So my recent rez day led three people to give me super wonderful gifts via XStreet. I want to send them a thankoo f'r sending them -- but who was it? Is there any way to tell who gifted me?

Do you get a message that would be in a chat log file?
Does the transaction history show anything useful? _____________________

That was one of the things I liked about SLX over OnRez, SLX said who sent a gift while mystery Onrez stuff that was sent me I just deleted...
![]() Now with XSt it no longer seems to say that anymore, didn't there used to be a way to send a message with something you gifted even or am I imaging wonderful things? We should definitely request for that ability back!_____________________

I just gave myself something, and I do get a line in chat that has what I assume is the name of the inworld object that gives the item followed by the name of the object's owner followed by the name of the object and the location of the object.
The notification that appeared had (an unknown user) where it should have had the name of the giver. From SL's point of view, I suppose the giver should have been the merchant, rather than me. There was a place to enter a message with the gift, but the message did not appear in the notice or in the chat. _____________________

Okay, I signed my name at the end of the message, just in case, even though I thought she would know who sent it anyway. _____________________

The merchant should have records of some sort, I would think, of who paid for item, and of who got the item, but whether they can connect the two records I don't know. I suppose if their records have dates and times for both transactions they could manually check them and make a pretty good guess, assuming they don't have too many payments coming in at once and things going out at once both at the same time.
