My Boyfriend has been trying to login to second life all night (He is trying to be born!) but every time he logs in, it refuses him his login and adds characters to his password.
any idea how we can work around this issue?
Thanks, Mortak.

Not sure what else is going on here, but the login screen always "adds characters" to the password supplied, in the sense that if fills the field with "*" characters regardless of how many characters there are in the password supplied.
So, somehow he's not using the right password, or SL is being difficult about recognizing that password (or the account name).
No idea why it may be being difficult, although I notice that at the moment the login screen seems devoid of "News from the Official Second Life Blog" and "Second Life Grid Status Reports", so maybe LL is having a Bad Webservices Day, or is celebrating the end of SL5B with one of the traditional routing failures in / between datacenters.

If you're both using the same installation of the viewer, on the same computer, make sure that you don't have the "remember password" box checked on the login screen. It might be remembering *your* password instead of letting him fill in his.
