Help with Music URL.

I have a problem with the Music URL in my Media tab in About Land. I try to delete the current URL and put in a different one, but it automatically returns to the same one in just a few seconds. I don't like the station and would really like to change it. I am the owner of the land, so it's not that. If anyone knows anything that would help I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

Do you hit return after you change it or do you just X out of the media or about land window?

I've done it both ways. Still comes back. I've even hit enter multiple times. It works for a moment, then switches back.

Ack! The return thing was the only thing I could think of... I forget every once in a while to hit return and it defaults back. I hope someone else in here can help out!

Is it possible that you have some sort of radio device on the land that keeps resetting the URL?

Firstly, does this land belong to a group?
If it does you may not be allowed to change the media..

Do you have a radio or another script that is used to change the media on your land?
As this may be overrighting your efforts...

Knowing the way SL is playing up at the moment I would delete the old one and close tab.Wait awhile or log out.Put the new one in on your return ,might work.mind you it may work on its own when SL is ready.

I own the land. But I do have it deeded to my group. But I'm definitely allowed to change the media.

I think that's similar to the question above. So I'll answer the same: Not that I know of.

The problem with that is that it happens within seconds. I delete the URL, it comes back in......15 seconds. I've also put many different URLs in and it just switches back.

Then perhaps you should ask the group maybe there is a changer on the land.

There are tools that can help find scripted objects. The oft-mentioned Mystitool can, though I don't know if the free version does.

They typically work within 96m (including vertically), so you may need to move around quite a bit to search the entire parcel.

what does the url look like and are you using the lower box or the upper box in the media window?

It's only me and 2 of my friends. I asked them if they had put one out and they said no.

I'm trying to delete it and put in my own stream. And I'm putting it in the Music URL box - the bottom one.

Are you sure your own stream works in SL.If it does not that might be the reason for the revert.has somebody else used that stream to confirm it's ok.I once had a list of urls of about 30 that I picked up and after ages putting them in I ended up with 3 that worked.Hope yours is ok.

Yes, my stream works. I dj and it worked just fine Sunday. And this has been going on for a while. I'd really like to play music for my friends when they're over and be able to use it to practice my sets, but I can't.

You are wearing your group tag when you try to change the URL?
For a try, give the rights, to change the media settings, to one of your group members and let them try to change the URL.

No more ideas then that.

Yes, I was wearing my group tag.

I gave one in the group the rights to change the media and it still didn't work.

Try splitting the parcel in half. Each half will have it's own media setting. See if your URL sticks to one or both. If ok then join back halves and try URL change again.

I have never run across this problem myself but my thinking is that splitting the land will cause the simulator to set up the media configuration again for both parcels and could possibly correct any bad media configuration you may have had(if that was the case).
