upgrade to Premium= how long till sign up $ recieved?

Hi there how long after upgrading to premium membership do you usually get your sign up money? Thanks in advance for any and all help recieved.

You don't. The bonus comes if you join as premium from the start.

eta: the weekly stipend is paid on Tuesday though.

wait so even though my wife and I started our accounts tonight and upgraded them to premium tonight we wont get the bonus? Jeez could we cancel and then restart again to get it?

This piece means you have to make the account Premium at the same time you register for it. If you started it as a free account and then upgraded it, even if you did both tonight, you wouldn't technically be eligible for the bonus. It seems to be somewhat inconsistent though, from what people have reported on these forums...some upgrades get it, some don't

Has anyone tried complaining to the actual owners of this game about these inconsistencies? Cause I for one am not going to give up the items I've collected allready nor am I going to give them any kind of membersip fees without getting all availible benfits....

ya there was this one guy that decided to go see them and put his foot down..but we haven't seen him since that day

well, there might be a second person riding off into the sunset... cause i want premium, but not without every bit of freebie promised, if anything they ought to reward free members that upgrade more than same day ones since we've had the chance to earn linden and get a free membership but have chosen to actually pay

I went premium within a few days, and put in a ticket when I did not receive the bonus after the promised 45 days.
The response was indeed that only new premium accounts received the bonus. Ticket closed.

Well, I reopened the ticket and stated that I did not agree with it, especially since the time period between free and premium had been very short, and they decided to give me the bonus after all. So if you do not get it, go that same way. But it will probably depend on who handles your ticket anyway

I was basic for a good 6 months before upgrading to premium. I didn't expect the bonus as the small-print does say it's for new sign-ups only, but it got paid to me totally out of the blue about four months after this. It took quite a bit of detective work to find out what the unexpected windfall was. I can't remember how much it was - somewhere between 1000 and 2000 I think.

If you've been around for years, I'd say you've received your benefits...years of using SL without paying for it. Kind of cheeky to expect LL to give you a bonus for going premium at this point.

Now, the OP upgraded the same day he started. I'd pay HIM the bonus.

I do agree with both of you that LL should make the limitations on that signup bonus more clear. I upgraded within days of starting SL, and like you, I expected to get the signup bonus, until someone pointed out the fine print I'd missed.

yeah, i thought there was an upgrade-to-premium bonus when i signed up to, but never any hide nor hair of it. there WAS a bonus for putting in payment info when you did sign up (2 years ago; i'm not talking now). which i also couldnt do, due to technical difficulties.

other folks have different experiences.
