The latest blog: "In addition, two confusing and almost unused options have been deprecated: * Deny Payment Info on File * Deny Payment Info Used These are found in the ‘Estate’ tab of World > Region/Estate and the ‘Ban’ tab of World > About Land. This is in preparation for a change to the user interface around land access coming in 1.18.6 (which should make access restrictions much easier to use)." I've got more faith in payment info used than I have in Identity verified that's for sure.

I was wondering the same, but no idea. I guess I'll see what appears tonight when I can finally log in.

Those particular boxes *were* a little confusing, how much demand was there to block people *with* payment info?

Ummm. Actually, those two options *were* pretty useless. The only reason I can imagine to BAN someone because they DO have payment info on file or payment info used might be to keep them away from a Money Tree intended only for poor, impoverished newbies.
The only ban or allow tab that related to payment info that most people found useful was the ability to ban people who DID NOT have any sort of payment info on file. And that choice isn't affected by this change.

From: Viktoria Dovgal Those particular boxes *were* a little confusing, how much demand was there to block people *with* payment info? Political correctness. The options allowed a discrimination against freebies, without being accused of picking on them specifically. With IDV, one should expect an option to block IDV-verified people on the basis that they are filthy perverts who only verified so that they could access porn. It's only fair - even if there is no demand for it.

I'm actually way more concerned about this comment: "This is in preparation for a change to the user interface around land access coming in 1.18.6 (which should make access restrictions much easier to use)." Ok - does this mean that (finally) users will receive a popup warning when they first setup a whitelist on their mainland property - advising them of the social implications of doing such, and the importance of being a good neighbor? Probably not, but a man can dream, right?

You know things like if it isn't your land and it isn't open to the public, then don't trespass on it.

From: Ceera Murakami In the future, all banlines will be textured to resemble hedges of rose bushes. *smirk* We need two types of ban lines... 1... No access line - Make this one look acceptable. It is used mostly to keep non-members out, so shouldn't be obtrusive to look at. It should also have a polite warning to people that don't have access. 2... Ban line - if their name is on a ban list, it should be obtrusive.. Make it completely opaque and fill the area from 0m to infinity. Make it so you can't cam through it.

A revenge ban line on the neighbouring parcel that goes through the walls of the home of the people who put the first ban line up to see how they like it.
