I see the Lindex as the real barometer of the economy.

So I am interested in what everyone thinks about the recent jump in volume - is this a temporary bump from the CSI folks coming in or do you think we're starting to finally see permanent growth in the economy?

Make some predictions over the next few weeks and we can revisit to see who's right and who isn't.

My guess is this is a temporary bump, but maybe with Christmas coming perhaps we've reached a new plateau.

Cheers,

Iron.

I'm not in business in SL, and I don't keep track the way someone like Desmond does, but it seems to me the increase is permanent, associated with the simultaneous growth in registered accounts.

The start of cold weather in the Northern Hemisphere would be my guess. More time inside, more time on the computer, more $L spent.

The daylight savings change just kicked in for many residents with money to spend - and it's cold - expect to see more people on computers in the evening.

* * * * *

I would disagree that the LindeX is a barometer of the economy though.

It has been openly declared to be the 'fine trim' mechanism which means that the Company will throttle $L sales through it, balancing all sorts of things like money supply and the printing of new land.

For instance, if a lot of regions were dumped (or restricted) from the market, we would see repercussions on the LindeX.

One other particularly strange thing - it used to be that $L orders for sale on the LindeX sold sequentially, or very close to. Not any more. It's sort of a blended thing now, where if you offer $L for sale some of it will go near right away, some will go later, other $L sales will intermingle with your own.

I have no hard evidence, but I suspect the Company's own $L sales are also intermingled in this way. Making the LindeX very subject to perturbations.

It's sort of like watching the tailwing trim flaps on a plane. Price and volume may go up and down, but it may not alway be in synchrony with the overall direction or altitude of a large jet.

My prediction: no LindeX prediction possible due to other factors being so huge.

Watch concurrency numbers, regions auctioned, new signups, and last of all, the LindeX. Aggregate all that data for a total picture.

Heavy activity might coincide with enhanced $L sales direct from the Company, then again it may not if they know about other internal factors (region shortages vs oversupply, signup issues &c) in advance.
