I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post my question. I have property I need to sell and the Sim is owned by an individual who accounts are frozen by the Lindens. I understand from what I've been told that he is being investigated. I need to sell my land but I'm not sure if it possible since he doesn't even have an account listed anymore. Does anyone know if I can sell the land and if I do, who would the new owner pay the tier to? Also, if the Lindens are going to take over the land, do I lose the money I paid for it.

Only the Linden's can answer these questions. When you "buy" from a private sim owner, you are really only renting from them and have no recognized rights as far as the Linden's are concerned. They are not likely to want to take over sim management responsibilities, and no one else is likely to be able to speak for them, your best bet is talking to the Linden's about it

u can sell the land as he doesn`t have to be in the money transfer as normal on the mainland

if he doesn`t pays tier, the island will be reclaimed and every one will loose their land

won`t comment about trying to screw the first person u manage to sell it to with the knowlage that it might vanish

Many accounts that are being frozen and investigated are later reinstated. It is an automated process that freezes the acount sometimes when several large payments or payments of the same amount are received in a short period of time. Don't panic yet.

Sorry you're in that situation :(.

You never actually owned the land, that was just an agreement between you and the sim owner that LL has no knowledge of and was no party to and hence won't honour.

If the sim owner ends up loosing his/her account, the sim will dissapear with it, along with your land and everything you have rezzed on it. Usually the Lindens will reopen the sim for a short while to make sure everyone can vacate though, so if the sim is gone already put in a support ticket asking to either have everything returned to you, or the sim reopened for a short while. You will loose your land, the money you paid for it and what you paid for the current rent cycle though, sorry :(.

If the sim owner ends up getting their account restored, he/she is the person you'll need to deal with to get rid of your land. He/she may or may not allow the land to be resold, it'll depend.

Thanks everyone, your Information helped. I have submitted a ticket to the Lindens asking for help or some information. I will not sell to someone else when I feel sure that the Sim is going away. I feel sure this man was involved in some scam activities in SL, acting as a Banker. I will take my building down and remove my stuff. Too bad I was getting ready to open a business, sigh

Banker...ooh that's not a good word in SL these days *shudder*

Amelie, I would have sent this to you privately but you have PMs turned off. Darien Caldwell has just opened a new commercial sim for rentals, so you can still get your business going. She is very reputable, so you don't have to worry about this same thing happening again.
