I just went on a little shopping spree (darn that jeans thread *shakes her fist*) and was pleasantly surprised to find a few places doing this and was curious about others too.

Oh, yea, what am I talking about lol I saw at pixeldolls and tart that they had some REALLY nice freebies (pixeldolls) and some reduce priced items (tart). The items from tart were set at low prices and had the script for only new people under 30 days old.

Its starting to look like a new person can get set up pretty nicely for very little. My thought is this would let them wander the grid feeling better (we all feel better when we look snazzy dont we?!) and thus encourage them to stay longer. I have a friend that has been here about 2 weeks and she was thrilled to find these items, as well as the inexpensive hairs at ETD and a newbie pack from Nyte N Day. Really nice items!

Can anyone recommend any other places that do this? I'm not talking about the same freebies you find in freebie stores, I mean things that the designers set out in their own shop. Im hoping to do this someday myself, but I think its great that these few are. I'd just like to take my friend shopping for a bit more for things like this for newbies...thanks in advance for anyones posts!

Illusions has some really fun ones - horns/masks/hats - as well as a treasure chest full of some of the better 'other people's freebies' on the grid.

And, of course, Sin Skins freebie pack...it has a bunch of different skin tones.

There are so many resources for newbies, to get hooked up nicely for free.

See Lucrezia Lamont's folder thread and get a packet/folder from her to hand out to noobs. Lots of info on where to get free hair, skins, clothes, and other freebies.

Thanks to all, I actually ended up making a mini list in my profile as I go. I run into newbies all the time that dont just look ruthed, they ARE ruth! Hopefully giving them the info to these things will help them stay longer

I just found out yesterday Gurl6 hair will give you a free hair if you are under 30 days too. Missed out on my main Av but got in for my alt. Very good quality hair, which they have in 3 sizes when you buy it which is really great for me, because I'm on the small side and a lot of the other brands don't sit well on my head

Look for the notice as you walk in the door, if I remember correctly.

Oh and BTW, glad this thread is here because I probably missed out on some good picks for my Av, but with my Alt I'm still gathering things and have another couple of weeks to be able to stock up and she still needs better clothing than what I've found thus far - most especially shoes - her shoes choices are slim to none.

My biggest peeve is the cartoon walk - so the first thin I want is an animation over ride for that. Just found one as my Alt - gotta get the slur so I can share with everyone.

Is there a similar thing for guys? Cause I don't think the Sexy Walk is going to look real good...
