I'm still new in here and have a heck of a time converting in my mind with the above. Just want to double check myself---L$2900 equals to about $10USD correct?

So if I'm purchasing land for L$115000, that's going to cost me in USD?

I always just go to the Buy L$ page ( http://www.secondlife.com/currency/buy.php ) and type in the numbers.

Right now, L$115000 will cost you US$435.91.

L$276 ~ $1US more or less

so, basic math..... 115000 / 276 should give you an approximate value.

Currently you can buy lindens for L$264 per US$1

That will cost you about US$436 to buy L$115,000.

That's why I always go to the Buy L$ page to check my math.. Sunday AM before coffee is not to be trusted.
