I just replied to another thread in which casinos were mentioned .It prompted me to do a search of a name from the past and lo and behold this came up.

I thought this stuff was banned, any ideas on why this is still in search?

"Free Play"...You're not paying to play. "Win Prizes"...You are not playing for cash.

Those would be my guesses.

I have a Zyngo parlour on the parcel next to mine. They have some free play machines there and some that you need to pay into. Not my scene but apparantly legal.

---> Just to clarify: The Zyngo parlour isn't mine (or any alt of mine). It belongs to my neighbour. He gave me a show'n'tell walk-through explaining how Zyngo worked. I have to say that I can't remember any of it as, although he was patient in explaining things, I wasn't the least bit interested.

I actually enjoy a little Zyngo. I think LL considers Zyngo a game of skill  , so they are allowed.

Those words were banned as search terms (don't know if they still are - did you find it by searching for them)... maybe this club got a pass on this description because they clearly listed that they were free play games. It could also be due to this being a result from a GROUP, not a PLACE listing. Hard to tell without input from a Linden.

The results were from a person search and this was in picks. On reflection this is probably old stuff that has been on for years.Still strange though.

It's completely irrelevant whether it is considered a game of skill. It's still illegal under the wording of Linden Lab's anti-wagering policy. There are NO EXCEPTIONS for games of skill where chance is involved and money is wagered according to the policy.

If it were otherwise poker would be exempt as well as it requires far more skill than a slot machine that requires "skill" that could be mastered by a trained chimp. The only reason it is allowed is because Linden Lab does whatever it pleases regardless of what its anti-wagering policy says, which is consistent with how it acts with regards to any of its policies or practices.

But poker is defined as gambling by the US internet gambling laws. Zyngo isn't.
