Are you able to purchase land for the group if none of the members are premium account holders? Technically we are renting the land, but it says we are the owners and we have all the privileges. We are opening a club and we need more then one person able to control the stream and we've heard its easier when the land is group owned. Right now only the owner can change the stream and he can't be on all the time and we have djs. So there is a problem.
Thanks

First of all, is this mainland or estate land?

When a landlord says you 'own' land and you have 'ownership' rights - yet you pay rent to them, and do not pay tier directly to Linden Lab and do not have a premium membership so you cannot own land outright...
What you are actually doing is renting/leasing from another resident. You do not technically 'own' the land in the sense of final ownership.
For instance, if that landlord sells the land tomorrow, you are SOL.
I'd ask your landlord for permission to change the stream. If you have a parcel that is separate from the rest of the land there, you should be able to set your own music stream, I am pretty sure. This sounds like you are renting a house but the land around you isn't parceled off.

Right now only the owner can change the stream and he can't be on all the time and we have djs. So there is a problem. Group-deeded land with roles defined for group member having the appropriate ability would let those members change the parcel stream directly from the About Land window. But that's not really necessary to get the effect you're after. Instead, the landowner could own a scripted object that allows authorized individuals to tell it what URL to use for a stream. The simplest version of this is the ubiquitous "land radio" with the stream URLs all pre-defined in a notecard, but it's a trivial script to let authorized users type in arbitrary URLs to a chat channel, as a DJ might have to do when using different streaming hosts from one day to the next.

From: Dani Spires Are you able to purchase land for the group if none of the members are premium account holders? On estate land you can do that. They don't have to be premium. Then the members of the group with for exemple a manager role can change the stream Give them also the rights to eject and ban people from the land. In case you have trouble makers in your club. Other advantage is also that they can put events in search and such.
