If you live on a private island and the person you are renting from doesnt pay in the 30 days. LL takes the sim down right? What happens to all of your objects on the sim? Are they Auto returned or some thing or do you lose them?

i believe you will need to beg ll to open the island up so that you may retrieve them.
it seems logical that ll would autoreturn all the items before shutting down the island, but i recall they do not do that.

If LL seize an island then all assets are lost despite not being owned by the actual person liable for LL tier. They are generous like that, and caring. Not. Better open a ticket, if you are premium.

There is something of a method to LL's madness...

When a sim owner defaults on payment, they do take the sim off-line. But they leave everything in place, in hopes that the sim owner will rectify the situation and pay the past-due fees. If they get their money, they put the sim right back on-line, and all is as it was before.

If they close a sim and don't re-open it, residents can submit a request for access to go in and get their stuff. Non-Premium members can make this request too, by contacting a Linden in-world.

===

Contrast that to what might happen if LL DID auto-return everything in a sim that they shut down for non-payment...

A sim owner fails to make payment (as likely as not because of an LL billing error).

All your stuff gets returned... in a coalesced mess of unlabeled lumps... The layout of all the content in the sim is destroyed.

A couple of days later, LL fixes their billing error, or the sim owner manages to get a help desk ticket processed to link their account to a new credit card that is not overdrawn. So LL graciously re-opens the sim, which is now devoid of all content - not even a fern left standing.
