Whats your view on Sex Blogs? What do you think when you hear the words 'Sex Blog' and what do you think a Sex Blog should, or would contain?

There's lots of Sex blogs around lately, most of them a place for cheap and crappy porn to be displayed, but it wasn't always that way. Years ago this was un heard of, until a few sex bloggers started blogging about sex, their sex lives. These were not just a place for porn, they described in details experiences, feelings and thoughts. It is like a good piece of gossip, and can actually be a great read if the blog is written correctly : )

I've been considering it my self lately, id love to start a sex blog, I mean sure why not? Its just like a hot gossip magazine, a great read and great place for women (and men) to relate and debate.

I've been concerned about what that would do to my reputation though, and if anyone would actually read it, or be interested in contributing to it and I was also wondering about how much it would appeal to a Second Life Audience.

What do you think, would you read it?... maybe write for it?

Lemme know your thoughts! : )

well i think you should do what you feel like doing and if making a sex blog is something you wish to do then don't let a worry of a second life reputation stop you..
i mean if you are judged on what you like then screw the judges..
you are not here for them..this is your sl not theirs *winks*

Hey! There's someone who is already running an established column just like this on sex in second life in one of the online mags...but for the life of me I can't find it at the moment--but I just ran into it days ago (I will keep looking).

EDIT: Found it-- http://www.sl-newspaper.com/mains.htm under 'red light'

I can tell you more about starting a blog on this topic but would rather do it off the forums. I run a fairly new but quickly growing blog on love (and in a round about way, sex, too) called http://sl2rllove.blogspot.com/.

Our unique visitor numbers are growing so fast I'm adding several new authors to it...I can get into more on topic so if possible...send me an email: SL2RLlove@gmail.com.

If you are worried about your reputation you could always make an alt. It takes a little bit of funds to get an alt up an running to the level you are used to with your main, but you could have your public persona and a more risque one. I think a lot of people do this -- maybe you already have.

My trouble is, I created an alt to be a little wilder and then did not use him for that. He developed his own mild mannered persona in his own way. I am reluctantly resigned to being rather PG.

If you are worried about someone at home or work finding the blog, then that is an issue perhaps. It has to reside on your computer somewhere.

The question that comes to my mind is: why?
Why would I possibly be interested in someone else's sex life? Well, then again, I don't read real porn, either.
I guess I'd consider a sex blog a form of exhibitionism and pandering to someone else's SL fantasies just seems creepy. Considering the sheer number of barely-clad avatars in SL, there's a lot of that going on anyway :)
But perhaps the guys would be interested. That way they only need to keep one hand on the mouse instead of on the keyboard. ;)

And so, no, I wouldn't bother with it. SL is an interactive environment for me and to read about it in a blog instead of living it just seems like a bit of a timewaster.

@ Bran.

Sex blogs don't Focus on SL, especially not the ones I am talking about, and they don't focus on pron either, I wouldn't think of them as masturbating material. You should look up some OLD real life sex blogs. They cover thoughts, feelings and emotions, not just SEX.

I will be looking at that too, not just sex or porn, but I will also look at Relationship Online.

Ah, okay. You may want to start your post with "OFF TOPIC" or something like that. Or maybe "THE FOLLOWING BELONGS IN ANOTHER FORUM"

Just sayin

Same thing applies, though. I have no interest in reading about other people's private lives and/or fantasies. Too busy with my own.

LMAO saved the new keyboard from the spilled coffee I hope :p

To the OP.. I'm not sure if I'd read it if it WASN'T about SL. I mean, I really have no interest in other peoples RL exploits and there's a bazillion places to find that on the web if I wanted to. However, some erotic reading about SL along with product reviews, top locations (couples), and good places for non-noob singles to hookup would be one I'd probably read.

Hmm, our resident troll position has been filled, thank you.

You also need to preface your post with something like "Ignore my request for all thoughts - only those who agree with me need to reply".

/me happily passes the role of suggesting questions should be differently phrased and asked in other forums to someone less consistent.

Pep (Why be consistent when you can be fickle?)

OK then!!! So, I I prefer to experience my own fantasies rather than read about others', then I am closed minded and ignorant.

I don't usually get personal or attacking on these forums, but I think you might be a bit closer to the ignorant one here.

I'd say go for it. Why bother asking if people will read it or not? I don't think any of the thousands upon thousands of bloggers have thought about that. If you do it you should do it out of your own need to write about your experiences. I'd be careful about writing about other people though because you are writing about your sex life you are also writing about theirs and they may not be as willing to reveal that part of themselves as you are.
