You're 13 and a half? Years old? In RL?

Hon, you're not allowed on the main grid. The rules you agreed to state you have to be 18 to be on the main grid, sorry.

There is a teen grid though, which I *Believe* you can join. I don't personally know how though.

There's a specific Linden to contact, I'll AR this thread and hope that it gets noticed. Maybe try putting in a support ticket.

I just found out by testing that when signing up, if you put in your birth date and are under 18 bt 13+, it automatically starts sign-up for the teen grid. Problems are known to occur with stuff in SL all the time though, so meh.

Hope someone comes along with more info on getting transferred!

That would work, but you couldn't have your current name.

I believe only name transfers over though, so you wouldn't be losing much. (If anyone else knows something different, please correct me).

There is a Teen grid for 13 to 17 year olds. The main grid is for 18 and older, and is no place for children.

When you signed up for a Second Life account, the sign-up form asked you for your birthdate. If you gave an honest response, you would have been assigned to the Teen Grid, and you wouldn't be able to post to these Adult forums. You also would have been required to provide credit card information, and should therefore have no problem purchasing Linden Dollars. But L$ purchased on the Teen grid may only be used on the Teen Grid. You can't cash them out, and you can't transfer them to the main grid when you eventually turn 18.

Contact a Linden and explain that you made a mistake and wound up on the wrong grid. They will arrange to transfer your account to the right place.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that, Meade.

Probably the most teen friendly Linden I know of is Blue Linden.
If you want to venture in world one last time and send him an IM or Notecard with a return email address and ask him for advice that might work.
But I’m going to guess that wheels are at this moment in motion to get you safely over to the Teen Grid.
There has been talk of merging the two grids but I am completely against it, and this is a perfect example why and until I see a practical solution that prevents teens from accessing mature areas I will remain against it. Second Life’s Main grind is really for adults only. I know there are families that would like to spend time together on one grid. All I can say is….why? That’s what RL is for. You want to show your teen something on the main grid, let them look over your shoulder.

He doesn't show up in 'People' inworld, so he's probably just on the wrong forum - is there a teen forum?

He did show up for a bit. I'm just assuming he's been transferred now.

There's a seperate set of teen forums, as I understand it.

For what it's worth, I just checked, and the sign-up process does ask for your accurate birthdate, but it *doesn't* explicitly have warnings as part of the process regarding age requirements. I entered my accurate age, and so was directed to the main grid. My daughter isn't quite old enough to join the teen grid yet, so I can't legally test what happens with a 13 to 17 age birthdate when it is entered.

If you enter a date less than 18 years ago, but more than 13, you are signing up for teen-grid automatically. There is a message on the side and everything once you pass that point. I tested it with a few dates, but I did not complete sign up since it would break the rules and was unneeded to boot.
