I have this object that has no copy, no modify, no transfer scripts inside (whoever set these permissions must be seriously protective of their work... O.o) -some- prims. Is there any way to remove all scripts on the object at once? The scripts cause the item to be no copy/no modify/no transfer, which is really annoying for editing. The object has hundreds of prims so it'll take way too long to select each prim manually and check to see if it has scripts. Thanks.

You can delete the scripts in each prim, or remove them for use elsewhere if you wish. _____________________

This should do it, though it will get rid of of a lot other things at the same time, like particle effects and sit targets.. /54/97/331118/1.html

They are called scrubbers. They even clean themself.
Make absolutely sure that there really is nothing in there that you might need and... (talking from experience) Make 1000% sure you got the right object before you release your mouse button in order to drop it in your targeted Object. _____________________

If the object is no modify, you can't put a scrubber (or any other) script in there.
If the object is no modify and the scripts inside are no copy, you can remove them manually by dragging to your inventory. There may be a warning dialog about breaking the object, but the scripts will go. If the object is no modify and the scripts inside are no transfer, you can take copies of the scripts out, but the original scripts will stay in the object. If you attempt to delete the script, it may appear to be gone for a moment, but you will get a "not permitted to edit this" notice and it will still be there after the object's inventory refreshes. |

Very true, scrubbers won't be of use here. My post was more an explaqnation on scrubbers. I forgot about the permissions. _____________________

The object itself is copy and modify I believe, just the scripts are set to no permission for whatever reason. Thanks for the scrubber information, I will check that out. =)

If the object itself is modifiable, you should be able to go through the prims and delete all the scripts. I *think* there is a script that you can put in the root prim of a linkset that will go through all the prims and delete any scripts that are there. This has come up on these forums in relation to no mod hair and other stuff that uses resize scripts.
This is not the same as a scrubber script, though. A scrubber script will reset all prim properties, such as hover text and particles, which would otherwise continue even after the scripts causing them were deleted (if that makes sense). I don't think a scrubber script deletes any other scripts. _____________________

If people follow the link, /54/97/331118/1.html, which I posted above, it will take them to
LIBRARY: Object Bleach (a more thorough scrubber script) kills all those pesky settings that reside in prims, but are only settable from a script (and a few that you can set from edit) and removes all scripts in the object. |

I don't think a scrubber script deletes any other scripts. I don't think there's any formal definition of "scrubber script." Even if you're right this instant, there's nothing stopping someone from creating a such a script tomorrow (within the limits of SL permissions) and calling it a scrubber script. It's a useful term for searching, but don't assume that all scripts that are described that way will do the same thing. |
