Age verification mystery.

I've been a Premium resident for ages and ages and yet I was wandering around near my home and there's a parcel of land with ban lines and I get a message that says I need to be age verified before I can access the land.

I've had this before with a test alt but never with myself. I've been to all sorts of places in my time and unless somewhere has had ordinary ban lines, I've been able to gain access. I thought being Premium counts as being verified.

.....not that I particularly want to go on the piece of land in question anyway - it looks a mess - I was just curious!!!

There is two types of verification.

One is for the whole "adult" thing that has been a recent issue, with zindra, search, etc.
You are covered for that, because being premium counts to it.

The other is a checkbox in about land that restricts access to "Age verified adults"
This you need to be verified through aristotal(or whatever it is called) through the form on you account page.

It is just an optional layer of protection for parcel owners. Harldy anyone uses it, and you are not required to if your parcel contains adult content. It has actually been around for more then a year, that shows how little it is used.

A while back, I was river-rafting from a Linden platform that supplies inner-toobs for the purpose.
I came to a narrow section of gorge that had ban-lines extending into the river from both banks. Not only was it narrow, but it was at an angle with zig-zag ban lines. Plus - those inner-toobs are not the most finely-controlled vehicles known to SL.

So I thought "what kind of anus puts up lines like that in a place like this?
I looked at About Land.
The anus had limited access to PIOF. He didn't want to make it easy for inner-noobs on inner-toobs to pass along the Linden waterway.
He had also limited access to Adult-verified. He just didn't want to make it easy for anyone.
It was the Adult-verified check that crashed me.

I found some Linden parcels in Linden village that were set to age verified. They're near an info hub and may be subject to extra griefing, but it still seemed like an odd thing to do.
