Since a few days I have a strange problem. When I am not in mouselook and looking down on my avatar, the video suddenly, after a few seconds, zooms in almost inside my head. I scroll out again and it happens again after a few seconds.
Its happens only on one PC and I tried to change my mouse (assuming it was the mouse).
Als when this happens and I switch over to mouse look, the mouse does not function anymore. I use Logitech game mouse. Seems it coincided with the change over to the new server version.
Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions.
Thank you.

I might start with deleting the settings.xml file.

If that is too drastic I'd start with checking the camera preferences.

I looked in the settings but its quite simple, not much I can do here except for some switches on off. I have tried different mice , but that does not help either. I also reinstalled the program, no result. Should I try that XML file?
Its so annoying, and it started only recently.

What settings did you look at? Settings for your mouse? Settings in SL's preferences? Settings for your video card?

Did you try adjusting the values of the camera controls in SL's Preferences / Input & Camera

Deleting the settings.xml file is an easy thing to try.

Beyond that, systems specs might prove useful.

I removed the settings.xml, but did not help. I removed the program and reinstalled on another drive, makes no difference. I removed all my HUDS, no difference.
I went through every possible setting in preference and advanced, compared to my laptop even.

Let me describe in more detail what happens:
If my camera is in the default position behind the avatar, the cam randomly after a few seconds zooms in on my head. I look inside my back head as it were (ugly eyeballs).
If I then click on my avatar, the camera jumps back to the old postion.
It happens also when I walk, during walking the cam zooms in randomly.

If I move my camera around the avatar to another position, it does not occur anymore, camera stays in the set position. So it only seems to happen in the default camera position.

If I set my avatar in mouse look (no camera anymore), randomly after a few seconds I cannot look around anymore with my mouse. I can walk with keys, but my mouse movements (turning left/right) stop functioning.
I then need to ESC out, click my avatar (default cam position) and go back to mouselook again, until it happens again after a few seconds.
Drives me nuts ...

Although I did not change any hardware, its related to this machine because it does not happen on my laptop.

Specs:
Intel dual core 6400
NVIDIA 7950 GT video
4 Gb RAM
HP 22 inch wide monitor
mouse MS USB or logitech, tried several versions

I have used this hardware config for a long time.

I looks as if it coincides with the recent server upgrade. It began around that time frame and became worse and worse, as more regions were updated it seems. But that could well be a coincidence and not be related.

Anyone?

If you have another mouse, I would try that -- kind of sounds like the mouse itself is going wacky.

Seems to be a bug, because I installed the release candidate and the problem is gone.
