Has anyone else noticed that on version 1.20 you can no longer add -multiple to your target for multiple accounts? Is there another way to run multiple accounts on this version?

Thanks, JulieAnne

Strange - just -multiple still works for me and I'm running 1.20.15.

I had the same issue. Because of some other issues I was having, I had to uninstall SL...get rid of all the old SL files that were hiding and resinstall. Once that was done, it seemed to take -multiple just fine.

Humm, I downloaded the latest version last night (not sure what the version number was) but when I added -multiple and clicked apply, it would not save the target. Only when I removed the -multiple did the target save.

Not sure, I will have to check the version when I get home now too.

Thanks Guys

Use the double hyphen if it is all on one line, such as in a Windows shortcut Properties field.

"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" --multiple

That is the "Target" field in the properties for my Win XP system, and it runs fine in multiple instances under 1.20.15.

Hmmm, I downloaded the latest release of the main viewer, and then added the single hyphen -multiple to the target in the window XP shortcut. Worked just fine. (Of course, I am clueless about these things, first I tried adding the -multiple inside the quotes. The target would not save this way.)

"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -multiple

I don't have any quotes on the target line at all. Didn't think the XP system likes them.
Just trying to help.

The quotes are only there because of the embedded space in the directory name "Program Files". They group the path info together as a unit. Any additional parameters go outside the quotes.

Leave it to Windows to have a standard and critical directory name with a space in it, and yet be unable to correctly parse the path with a space in it, unless you wrap the path in quotes...

Ah gotcha, Ceera.
I don't have that problem as I installed SL to a nominated folder rather than let it install to the default, so there's ni path with a space in the name.
Knew I'd done it for a reason - just didn't know why!

Mine is XP and there are quotes on the target line. -multiple after the quote worked just fine.

That's my target line, and it works just fine for me on XP. I'd never heard of using a double hyphen before, but I just tried it, and it works exactly the same as the single hyphen.

Kool, so it looks like it has to be outside of the quotes. On the last version I was running, it was inside the quotes and worked. Must be an XP issue and not a SL issue? Thanks all, you guys Rock!
