Okay, just a question out of curiousity.
Yesterday afternoon I made a purchase, and obviously did not recieve the product, or I woundn't be bothering writing this.
Now I've been pretty lucky over the last 2 years, and havn't had this happen often, but I have had purchases caught up in lag alot, but have always recieved them within an hour or two. If after two hours or so I didn't recieve it, I never did.
So, yesterday I logged maybe 30 minutes or so after the purchase, and when I logged back in 4-5 hours later, I checked, still no new jeans. I looked up the transaction, wrote the owner a polite offline note, included the transaction info and asked him if he could check into it.
This morning I checked in before work, still no product, but had a polite offline IM from him saying things get caught up in lag. I sent another IM saying yes, I realise this, which is why I waited 4-5 hours before sending the first IM, and now it's the next day and still nothing.
Now 24 hours plus later, I get another IM from him saying these things can take over a day. Well I havn't replied to him, but this sounds totaly bull.
Now my questions, has anyone else had things take over a day to appear? This is only $250L, less than half the price of a cup of coffee, but mildly irratating all the same.
I do know that I am not supposed to name names here, but what's the penalty for doing so? This is like post 11 in a year and a half, a suspension from the forums isn't going to kill me. I get the feeling he's just trying to keep giving non answers till I forget about this. But he's dealing with a idiot (me) that hung on to land for 4 months that I did not want, just because I had a complete idiot for a neighbor, who was trying to drive me out, and I wasn't going to give her the satisfaction.

I've never had a delivery take over a day. If you haven't already, check your transaction log and send him the transaction number. If the jeans are copy and no transfer you might want to point out to him that he really has no excuse not to send you another pair even if the initial pair is miraculously delivered to you later on.

I've yet to meet a sleazy merchant in SL who didn't act like a sleazy merchant. The fact that he's even responding to you and that he's doing so in a polite manner would tell me that he is just being a bit too patient. I'd give him another day but if it continues after that then let him have it.

Were you shopping in busy mode? That might explain non-delivery.

Yeah - check one more time. Lag shouldn't account for a delay this long. It would take him less time to just give you a pair of pants than for him to write a long reply trying to avoid giving you the pants. I wouldn't even have asked you to wait the first time. I would have apologized for you not getting them and immediately sent you new ones. why give up a potential long-term customer for a 250L windfall?

Also try clearing your cache. I've had nondeliveries show up after doing so.
Oh, and there's also apparently a new bug in which you aren't notified of deliveries. Be sure you search for the item by the exact name. Revisit the store to remind yourself if ya need.

No, wasn't in busy mode, and have done a search of inventory. Will try clearing my cache however, havn't tried that. I double checked the clothes, all I cared about was having mod, but it seems they are also transfer, so that might be why he is hesitant about just replacing them, thinking I'm the one trying to scam him. If he only knew how much I do spend on clothes in SL..... I don't even want to know that information.

Just give her the pants. I still don't think he is trying to rip her off since he responded nicely. I just don't think he's very smart.

In a word, yes. There was a problem once, I contacted SweetSexy Diamond of Reflect Your Dreams, she was very helpful and understanding but wanted me to wait if possible - it was possible - as others had had items turn up. Sure enough they did. Each asset borkup is different of course. This was about 3K worth of stuff.

If he had the time to reply a few times he should of had the time to send you the merchandise you hadn't recieved. After all this person did get your money, right? Maybe this person is waiting and praying for a miracle to return to you what you paid for so he doesn't have to. Why couldn't he/she just return the jeans? Stuff like this pisses me off. They're so damn greedy they think if they give you another pair [and not even a another pair since you never got the first pair to begin with] that it will make them worse off.

I don't understand this attitude at times, a customer says somethings not delivered, you waste how much of your productive time playing bounce the IM 6 times over a week. What is this worth, hmm perhaps it's worth say $1US, ok now compare that to the manufacturing costs of another $250L pair of pants -practically zero, just send them the pants first up and the issue is over. They might end up with 2 pairs and give a pair to a friend? Big deal, how much money was lost making them in labour & materials? And you have a happy customer who will reccommend your product instead of one who says it took me 2 weeks to get a pair of pants from you when SL ate them.
