I, frankly, would reject anything that comes from someone you do not know. There is such a thing as a b-places HUD, but it is usually available from kiosks at places participating in their listing.

http://www.b-places.com/top_locations.aspx

Given that anyone can name a malicious object anything they like, reject the offer. But do pick up the official HUD from a b-places kiosk at any of the sims participating.

Something I was given last night! I'd wondered what it was. I looked in inventory where it accepted to and to my surprise I already have two copies of HUD 1.2!
It's all too easy to accept these when you enter an area that automatically offers you a notecard :(

I'm with Arch on this one......utterly confused.
This is an object someone gives you and they get paid to give it to you?
From Isablan's post it sounds like it started as a legitimate object?

I never accept anything from anyone I don't know btw because I like to keep my cupboards uncluttered :D

Hope someone can clarify though.

Well thats if we want it right? spamming objects is now allowed ( TOS ) Hence MAYBE its a helpful objects to those that make money. But to toi tthe receiver its just junk. Each time this HUD is passed from one person to another the sender get 10l. regaurdless if they want it or not.

Erm.........
I wasn't suggesting it was a legitimate or useful object, I said it seemed it STARTED OUT as a legitimate object. I'm now guessing something has been renamed to what the original useful object was named?
I've never heard of something being passed around and people getting paid for passing it around. I also figure you have to accept inventory offers, even notecards, so if you decline do they still get paid? And if you decline, it doesn't end up in your inventory does it? Is the object itself otherwise malicious? It sounds mostly annoying.

/me is still confused.

I believe it goes into your trash, hence still adding to your inventory

Only way I can see this being implemented is that when you wear the HUD it takes a note of you as the owner. If you then pass the HUD onto someone else and they then wear it, it will see you were the previous owner and trigger a payment for you, then update the owner to this new person.

It's an affiliation scheme being abused as all affiliation schemes are abused. But even worse than an affiliation scheme, it's a PYRAMID affiliation scheme whereby everyone spammed becomes an affiliate as well.

So if you decline the object I fully expect that the person sending it will get no money, as there's no way for it to know that it was accepted otherwise.

Why is it so hard for people read a f***ing FAQ?

* What is the Brussels Airlines HUD and how can I get one?

A "HUD" or "Heads-Up Display" is a special attachment that you wear on your avatar. The HUD will maintain a fixed position on your screen while you wear it. You can see the HUD only that way.

When you wear the HUD you can enjoy 5 functionalities that will bring you a new Second Life travel experience!

o b.places
Discover every week new suggestions of Second Life b.places/Hot Spots. Simply click on the b.place/Hot Spot link on your HUD and teleport yourself to this location
o Top 20
Discover the 20 best resident rated b.places. Updated every 60 seconds! Simply click on the link on your HUD and teleport yourself to the 20 best locations.
o b-boost
Fly faster and higher! Select between 3 different speeds, see your exact flight altitude and exact flying speed! B-boost also permits you to hoover, so stay in the air without loosing altitude.
o History
Go back to places where you have been recently. This provides you with an historical overview list of the last 20 locations that you have teleported yourself to. Simply click on the link on your HUD and teleport yourself to location you choose.
o Web
See the overall web ranking of all b.places on b-places.com Write your personal comments to any b.place that you like and also SUGGEST new b.places that you think we should add to our list!
o Minimize
You can minimize the HUD to provide you with full screen view of Second Life. To minimize simply click on the minimize button
o Help
Here you will receive a note card that will explain you the most important functionalities of the HUD, the voting boxes and the b.places web site
o Back button
Go back to the last place you have been to with a simply click on the button

To obtain such a HUD, you can ask one to somebody who already has one, or you can get them from any Voting Box. If you can't find a voting box, just visit one of our top locations and you’ll find them there.

* Passing the HUD to another Avatar.

Access your inventory list, usually you find the HUD in the folder called Objects. The file is called BAIR HUD. Simply drag and drop the file to any Avatar. Note that to pass it you have to detach it from yourself for a moment. Alternatively get a free second HUD and you will always be able to drag and drop this one to pass it on!

* Be rewarded for your participation to b.places !

There are two ways to get rewarded for your commitment to b-places :

o Pass the HUD – Limited action: up to August 2007!
Every avatar that passes on a HUD to another avatar will receive 10 L$.You can only pass the HUD to each avatar once.
o Vote till you drop! New b.places are loaded every Friday. The first 1000 avatars who express their votes up to Sunday midnight GMT on these new locations will receive 2 L$ (Linden Dollars). We wish to reward you for being among the first 1000 voters that vote on new Second Life b.places.

Should you have problems to pass a HUD to another Avatar or if you didn't receive your reward, please consult our terms and conditions.

Sorry but people randomly sending objects to unknown people is spam the sendie. I did not ask nor wanted this piece of ........ How hard is it for you to understand that people/alts are only using this to make money and are just abusing this object. These people sending to people that are unknowing to the sender, breaks TOS rules about spamming.

BTW i had no intenstion to wear this hud.......................But i seen vendors offering this object and its notecards. Hence i have no Idea nor do I care about the terms and conditions BECAUSE I DID NOT USER IT. Because it was random spam junk sent but non payment online alts.

Agreed........scary infact.

For the record here. Nobody like getting spammed with random objects that are not wanted or requisted.
