I was able to log in without any troubles. Right now I'm being foolish and doing some building, but so far no problems.

I found the problem.

Inventory Database Down.

An inventory database is in the process of being rotated. A small percentage of residents that were on the server at the time of death will be logged out and won’t be able to log in until the server has been replaced. Please check back here for updates.

it finally showed up on the Twitter feed, and Status Page.

It's not just you, one of the inventory databases is borked.

The status blog is one of the things they are struggling with today, but they are keeping information flowing on their twitter page.

I read the status report of the issue but I wasn't on SL at the time of the crash I think. I signed off about 2 hours ago and just came back to sign on and it gave me the status report thingie.

Can it still affect me?

Not sure what server I run off of but I'n in the USA if that helps. But what was weird is I tried my ALT name and made it on, signed off tried my main again and couldnt get on then tried my ALT again and couldnt get on.

Yeah, the geography won't tell you much with inventory servers (there were 16 of them when they announced the split). Accounts were more or less randomly assigned to one of them, so you can have one account that can't get in and two alts with no trouble at all.

I was just boxing up some no-copy items and all of a sudden ....poof...they were gone.... I'm going to log back in now and maybe they'll just re-appear as if by magic... :rolleyes: and maybe my bedroom will be suddenly tidy when I wake up in the morning... :) Well, there's no harm in hoping....
