I will place an ad in wanted but I need to know what is a fair rate to pay for a host for events? Typically 2 hours...

Advice would be appreciated.

Most club hosts get paid via tips only but if you after paying them then id say 150-200 an hour would be good to start off with and then with you choice to bump that up if you feel there worthy for bigger pay...best of luck

As a hostess myself, I feel qualified to answer your question.

When I was hosting weekly club events, my job duties were to promote the event through the SL calendar, send out reminders to the staff, and be on-site during the 2.5 hour event. I sent out notices through the group to invite everyone to the event when it started. During the event I made sure to socialize with everyone, and greet *every* person by name. I ran the contest boards, starting and stopping contests, encouraging everyone to participate in the contest either as a contestant or a voter. I also encouraged everyone to tip the girls and the DJ. I answered any questions anyone may have had. I invited people to the group. I was the bouncer, ejecting / banning griefers. For that, I was paid L$1,500 plus tips, same as the DJ.

Speaking of tips ... let's face it, the hostess doesn't get nearly the amount of tips that the dancers do. I'm not shaking my pixels in their faces, so I'm not getting tips. Therefore, for club events, I must get paid by the event coordinator. I can not afford to simply rely on tips.

I run a hosting service and have several packages. I can show up and "white glove" the event for as little as L$500.

Or I can come on-site and decorate your venue for a given theme for a little more. I can provide an entire build for you from my prefab collection for a different fee. I can bring a full staff, and can even bring a few more guests to the event if you're hiring my dancers ... they have quite a following.

So, to answer your question, if you just need someone to host your event, plan on paying them a decent amount and not just expecting them to work for tips. Hostesses typically don't get many tips. *IF* you want me to work for tips only, then I am going to insist on my own tip jar with zero club rake, plus 25% of all tips given to the "house tip jar" ... you know ... the one sitting by the bar/stage/corner to help keep this place open.

But, as you increase the responsibility placed upon your host, the base pay must also increase.
