I can't seem to find any information about this place "NDE" for doors which seems really popular. Can anyone help out?

these doors get mentioned on the scripting tips forum, check that out, you may find the info you need, or check out NDE in SLEX and you will at least find the creator and then check his or her picks

theyre just doors imo.
the only thing that might make them more special is that they can integrate into the nde rental system. but then again, hipporent has an integration script you can drop into any door at all.

I have both NDE and HippoRent doors. The NDE doors are very flexible, very versatile, with loads of options...slide, swing, operated by listed owners only, lockable...but I prefer the HippoRent ones. The NDE doors have a very cumbersome way of adding or deleting users, which makes them a pain for landlords who have to reconfigure doors all the time for their tenants.

I only use the NDE Doors for a specific purpose, and that is for volume detection. For rentals, I use the HippoTech system because of the power that HippoTech gives and its customer service. I can mod my HippoTech doors to slide if I want to, and have even hacked it up to do double doors. If I really wanted to, I could learn volume detection and have it do that too. But I don't use those for residential builds, it would be something to go in a commercial build or a lobby.

If you are a builder, NDE doors are decent to use with custom stuff you sell. I prefer to use something simpler, though, so I really don't use these doors at all anymore.

Cristalle, have you figured a hack to get a Hippo door to stay open until manually closed? Mine all auto-close after a minute or so. At least the swinging doors do. I have one sliding door that (usually) stays where I put it.

I haven't done that but it would be easy. The HippoTech door script is largely an open source script with a few tweaks for working with HippoTech's rental box, plus an access list that is partially dependent on the rental box info. I imagine deleting all references to the timer would do the trick.

I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have a SLURL for it? I can't find anything on it and Slex was down this morning when I was checking.

According to SLX, NDE doors have been discontinued, and replaced by a product called AeonVox. Here's the SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/BNJ%20RP%20Island/128/128/501/

The NDE Doors are a waste of Money, you can get free scripts that will do more than you ever need.

unless of course you like clicking on menus that will not go away until you click them again.. a whole lot .. all the time.. over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over

edit: If they were realistically priced, maybe they would be a valid option for me too, but as it is ..all I have to say is : hahahaha better you than me

What do you suggest? I need scalable double doors with access list.

Stallion, you migth check out OLB's sliding doors at "OLB Showcase". The control panel is demonstated but not presented for sale yet. Try our sliding doors, single and double. With the OLB Home Control System they can be locked and have access list control, but can function alone. Pricey? Perhaps, but they come with full perms so that you can sell your constructions. We also have 4-state shutters which are fun to use.

We use the control system in our houses, and they'll be offered for sale soon. If you want one early, then contact me in-world.

Paskis is the way to go

In my opinion Paskis scripts make by far the best doors for builders. The group he runs costs 5000L$ to join and though i had to think about it (as lets face it, it is a lot to ask to join a group) you do get every script and demo itmes that Paskis Robinson has made for his store. Included in the scripts are doors and windows, tints lighting scripts as well as a tonne of other stuff, these are all updated montly and any features that the group asks for are added (and rewarded) I have been using the group IM to ask question after question, and always found the answer there. I also own the NDE doors and windows frankly i find them slow and not of much use. I soon was on the hunt for better more riliable scripts and found them ALL at the paskis store so joined the 5k group to get the lot and 100% scripting support.

In this ones mans opinion its the only way to go. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for if you need any help please feel free to contact me inworld (GMT) i would be all to happy to help :)

Hoping you have a great day

Glenn.
