How do I stop receiving this message? It's driving me mad!

I've been away for a few days and returned to find literally hundreds of offline messags from SL, this is what they say...

The object 'Second Life' has sent you a message from Second Life:

Can't create object 'Teleporter' because the parcel 'Land' at Ashton 38.2414, 8.81577 does not allow it. Notifications from this region are temporarily deactivated.

I rent land at Ashton, I havent been there in ages and I have't created a teleporter anywhere. The owner of the estate is selling up in a couple of weeks and most people have moved out already; my skybox was left there and has dissapeared. I've IM'd the landlord but he's not online at the moment.. does anyone know what's going on? How can I stop getting these messages?

Easy: Go to the spamming object and mute it. It's an option on the pie menu which pops up when you right-click on the object.

I have also experienced tp failure message on mainland when sl was being wonky it might be just something like that too.
Yet its odd cause when i get things like that its when tping and I get greyed out screen and crash.

Hmm finding the object is the hard bit.................., perhaps go to the land at those co-ordinates and return all objects or get the owner to do so.

But I don't know what the spamming object is, how can I find out?

It's just weird because I haven't built anything there for ages and the last couple of days (when I haven't even been in SL) I get a load of offline messages.. strange.

last year I sold some land and few months back I had someone write me and say I had prims in their land that I hadn't been for months and sold everything on it.
Some reason the objects still said I was the owner.
I think sometimes weird things like that happen here and I have no clue why.
I had bought espresso machine a while back ago that said it could not be rezzed last year and for weeks it would message me about how it failed to rezz and could not enter my land.
No clue why but it went on for weeks upon weeks and finally it showed up and quit yelling at me.
Perhaps the teleport message will do the same thing i.e it will correct it self and shut up, hopefully it won't last for weeks though.

You can also mute an object by name:

View / Mute List / Mute object by name ...

Then type the name *exactly*, upper- and lowercase need to match. Try "Second Life".

BTW, your skybox has reappeared and is floating there.

There are actually two skyboxes near those coordinates, belonging to you. One is at about 300 elevation, the other at 560-ish. Both have some scripted objects in them... one a Hippotech teleporter at 59, 4, 300... but that's too far away in X and Y to be trying to rez something at the cited coordinates anyway. There are some scripted "Rooftop" prims in-range, (39, 8.8, 572.5, and 564.2, and 530.3), "Floor 1" at 39, 8.8, 555.2, "Floor 2" at 39, 8.8, 564.2... and maybe almost in range, "NYC Apartment V3.0 - Side" at 47.5, 5.9, 558.7.

[Edit: *doh*, forgot to mention, my bet is that you've just started seeing these messages *because* the owner is "selling up" and prospective buyers are flying around poking at stuff now.]

Aha! Yeah they've re-appeared.

My friend has a skybox there also, so maybe it's got something to do with her. I've never even owned a teleporter so I thought it was a bit strange..

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I have a related question.... what causes these messages? I get them intermittently from a butterfly rezzer in my garden. The object rezzes butterflies just fine most of the time, but sometimes it kicks out this message instead. If it was causing exceeding the parcel prims, I could understand an error occurring, but this happens even when there are 100+ prims available.

(Incidentally, muting the object doesn't work for these particular messages. I suspect that it's because the message isn't FROM the object, but rather ABOUT the object.)
