Hello there, I was looking at my group info this evening when I under the Land & L>Group L tabs it showed this:

Summary for this week, beginning on 12/4/2007
The next stipend day is 12/11/2007

Balance L$ -1

Group Individual Share
Credits 30 1
Debits 0 0
Total 30 1

I don't know why it says -1 L, should I be concerned? I don't want my group to go poof one day. The only thing I can think of that might of caused this is a couple months back I sold some land from my group to myself, or vice versa, can't remember...but one of those. If anyone can ease my mind about this it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Your group will not go poof. As long as you have two members and your land tier is not in the yellow, there is nothing to worry about. My Balance is -14. I have no idea what it means.

Thanks so much Raymond, I have some other land questions....I'll be joining your land questions group to pick your brain on those topics.

Thanks again!

Hey Ange,

The first page on your land tab in group window is basically a rundown on the ins and outs of linden dollars via your group.

Because any 'ins' are divided among the total group members you will find a negative value at times when the amount that has come in cannot be divided by whole dollars. We don't have linden cents :-)

So to use my group as an example:

Summary for this week, beginning on 12/4/2007
The next stipend day is 12/11/2007

Balance L$ -1

Group Individual Share
Credits 151 13
Debits 0 0
Total 151 13

My group has 11 members. If you divide 151 by 11 it comes out as 13 and some change.

The negative 1 Linden comes into play because not all 11 members have the accounting ability in their role. Only 3 of us do. So it really turns out to be 50 and 1/3 lindens to/from each of us. (depending on whether it's a dividend or liability)

You will often see group balance with a negative value for this reason. It will change from week to week and I imagine the previous negative balance is taken into account each week.

I apologise if I'm not being very clear on this but this is the first time I've actually tried to explain it to anyone rofl

*Edit: I didn't think to mention to take a look at the additional tabs next to the Planning tab you're looking at. Details and Sales. You can actually look back a few weeks if it helps.
