I haven't been on SL for a few weeks, then today when I started up, I had to download the 1.23.4 viewer. I assume this is the latest one needed as a mandatory update? It
seems to be behaving exactly as the previous one I had, however I am always reticent about having to do this. Still getting the mandatory freezing up and release every half hour or so though, but fingers crossed so far haven't crashed or noticed any anomalies.

i started using the new one last week...the only difference i've seen, is that face lights are blinding....in fact lamps and other light sources are way too bright...
maybe i need to adjust something in preferences?....lol |

If you are having performance issues, you can also try the new Snowglobe viewer that LL has in trial mode. I find it performs much better for me than the 1.23 viewer.

fingers crossed so far haven't crashed or noticed any anomalies. oh, so you havet the "avatar skin has random missing chunks that are missing" bug yet? you'll love it it's great.... usually hits the areas with the highest poly density, so, joints, crotch, and large sections of the face, along with the backs of the thighs... and often requiring clearing cache, changing to a new skin/outfit, and relogging to a new sim, before it stops affecting the original skin (it also seems to get progressively worse the more clothing changes you go through once you get the bug) _____________________

I've not encountered it, but I only ever use Cool Viewer or Emerald (Windows and Linux both). Has it been patched in them or am I just fortunate? Emerald has it patched, i am pretty sure. not had the issue at ALL since i got it. What that actually is on the missing avies, is that LL is introducing a new *tattoo* layer. Its coded into the servers, but not the viewers yet. So occasionally it *glitches* and the alpha layer is shown as invisible. That's a *fix* in the works  ~Brie _____________________

I've only been hit by it once... though I've seen it on others using the 1.23.4 viewer... it seems to increase the chances of hitting it if you change texture layers (skin, clothing, tattoos) rapidly and often. I'm not so sure that the third party viewers so much have it patched, as the fact that they're using the new bake everything together method, which may be what's preventing it. _____________________

Hmmm....I'm still using 1.22.....was on late last night and all was fine.......I'm not going to update until I can't log in with 1.22 cause I just keep reading about all the glitches in 1.23
  I just really don't have any desire to see my eyeballs thru my nose._____________________
