My Linden buying limit is $2,500. Today, I decided I wanted to buy a plot of land and need to buy more $L. I submitted a support ticket to LL asking if my limit could be increased for this one time purchase. Since I've never bought $L above my limit, I'm wondering if I did this right, and if LL will allow me to buy above my limit?

That is 2,500 Lindens. I wish I had 2,500 US dollars in my account. Filing a ticket was the correct thing to do, but I suspect they'll tell you that your Buying Limit IS in US dollars. That is, you can buy up to US$2500-worth of Lindens within a 30 day period. That would be, roughly around L$675,000. So you should be able to buy the land you want. |

Hi TundraFire,
I was looking at the Buy Limits and since you've been a resident since April 2008 (and I guess you've bought L$ more than once or twice since then?) you should easily be able to buy up to USD 2500/month worth of L$ without going through the hassle of asking LL's permission. If you need the money ASAP, you can try also buying L$ through www.xstreetsl.com (formally known as SLExchange.) You'll have to create an account there. _____________________

If you need the money ASAP, you can try also buying L$ through www.xstreetsl.com The purchases here on the Secondlife.com site are instantaneous (in re the ASAP thing). I'm not making any claims on the rate, as I don't have stats on the differences between the Xstreet site's rate and the Secondlife.com rate. But I don't think speed is an issue. |

I wasn't referring to the automatic computerized transactions. I meant that if she needs to have a Linden up her limit, it might take a few days. _____________________

If you've never bought L$ before you have limit now starting the first time you buy and it is now a very tiny amount at first and you have to wait for period of time to get the other limit.
My alt from 2003 never bought L$ until this last year most he was able to buy was 10 usd in first 30 days then it went up but when FD was first here I was able to buy around 250 usd first 30 days and then it changed last year some type. I swear it use or was after 30 days 5000 usd. _____________________

(which if memory serves me correctly, to buy from the lindex, one needs to have some money in the US dollars side of the account) been a LONG time since I purchased lindens on the lindex (or anywhere for that matter) _____________________
