Help changing a name

Hi ppl
Can someone help me, me and my friend signed up to sl a few weeks ago, but all of a sudden he was logged out by the adminstrator, on issuing a ticket about the problem as he couldnt sign back in at all, even if he created a new account it just kept saying second life cannot be accessed from this computer, he got an answer back saying ;-

Second Life avatar names must not be offensive, vulgar, or obscene. All names need to conform to the content standards established for PG-rated areas.

We have placed your account on hold pending a change to the name. Please can you suggest several replacement first names for your account and we will reset your account name with the first available name.

If your request for a name change is not received in a reasonable amount of time, this account will be discontinued.

now his first name was a little bit naughty (opps) but now the ticket is closed and he dont know how to change or offer to change the first name,
Can someone please through some light on this as hes so chomping at the bit to get back in.

Yeah they are cracking down bit more, although last week there seem
to be lots of naughty names still around in search.
Just change the name to something PG rated via creating new avatar I assume.

but thats just it, he cant log in to the account to change the name, and dont know how to,

He won't be allowed to he has to create entire new account like he did with the first one
by going to main site to create new account all over again.
The probably deactivated his account and won't be able to relogin.
If you do search in RA on word Names, there might be some discussion that
have alternative registration places so you can pick first and last names easier.
Or click my recent discussion few weeks back ago some people gave me some interesting
and easier ways to select a new alt name.
I am too tired to hunt down the discussion right now or I would.

thanks for the responce, hes tried to set up a new account, but after its all set up, and he tries to log in it still says "second life cannot be accessed from this computer" is it something to do with the ip address ???

I did search the message on google I came up with entire numerous
page full of things that might be related I didn't read it maybe there
is some answers he can find before he has to call

If he can't find answers he probably should call Linden Labs then. If he is outside US I hear
people suggesting Skype to call Linden Labs.
He might have had his ip banned or something else is going on.

Has he tried a new ticket?

There also interesting blog article about this person who her son and her was banned
because his son was 13 and joined adult grid.

just tried a new account name and still cannot access secondlife, thought now maybe after the 7 days trying to set up a new account would sort it, but its still the same

One of the spots I mentioned the question was posed due to the problem having do you not having Second Life installed. The person forgot to install it on her computer and tried
to login, which doesn't make sense personally to me.
So do you have SL installed?
And another one was maybe your internet is too slow?
I don't know it might the ip was banned because of name problem,
either way if that is true your "friend" has to deal with Linden Labs directly.

If he's still logged into the SL website, he should be able to re-open the ticket and ask for information on how to request a name change. If he can't re-open it (or if he's not logged in) then, as Darion said, he should open a new ticket as a 'guest' and refer to the old one, then ask how he can request a name change.

It does seem pretty daft that LL would hold his account pending his request to change his name, and not tell him *how* to do that.
