Hello all,

Im pretty new to SL and am struggling immensely to work out how to add pictures (for example a logo) or videos to an object. Im sure there must be an easy solution to this but I cant find it for all my life, any help would be greatly appreciated,

under file is an upload texture option, costs 10 lindens per upload

Basically you have to upload it and can then add it to the prims

edit: upload image is the proper option

There is also a bulk upload if you have many you want to upload at once

Hi Niko

Welcome to SL :)

First off, obviously you need the picture or graphic you want to appear on the prim ready. (We call these 'textures' generally)

So once your texture is ready, hit Ctrl & U or go to file, upload.

Locate the file on your computer, and hit upload. You'll get a preview box, so you can verify you picked the right file, and then after you hit "ok" the texture will upload. This takes a moment or two, and will cost you L$10.

Once you've got your texture uploaded, there are several ways you can apply it to a prim. Rightclick edit the prim, click the "more" button to access the tabs in the build menu (if you havent already) and click the "texture" tab. There, you can see 2 boxes, one has the texture and the other controls the tint or color. If you only want to apply the texture to one 'face' or side of the prim, you can click the 'select texture' radio button and leftclick the face you want to apply the texture to. If not just leave that, by default it applies the texture to all sides.

Click the box with the texture showing in the texture tab, and a sort of inventory/file browser will pop up. type in the name of your texture, or just scroll through and find it (it'll be in the 'textures' folder) and hit OK

Thats it, you're done!!

Good luck

Neil Robinson :)
