I just rented a property and the notecard said don't forget to request your group invite so you can access tv and such

Is this something Ican do or do I go through the rental manager?

Most likely the rental manager. There's no direct way for a scripted object to invite you to a group. There are ways for a script to get a bot to do it, but that's still pretty uncommon. And since they mentioned "invite" the group is evidently not open enrollment (nor should it be, for a rental).
