I would so run screaming out of any establishment infested with roaches- I am so with Mari on this. There is a commercial running right now that features roaches crawling around - I have to change the channel or leave the room when it comes on.

Not because of the "cover charge," but because they added scripted roaches. I saw one of them inadvertantly when I checked out Greenie's Lawn, and have never gone back. It's just me though. If someone else wants to have roaches, hey, have fun. I'l be over there..... _____________________

You know- this makes me think if there are folks as freaked out by rats I should pickup the little rat running loose in Talon Faire! I never put my self in the shoes of rodent-phobics!

ArchTx, I want to say thank you. This will be perfect for next year when I do finally decorate the store for Halloween. If you do anything Christmas-y (doesn't have to be free), I'll definitely stop by and look.

It's just me though. If someone else wants to have roaches, hey, have fun. I'l be over there..... I've had to live with them once, fresh out of College. NEVER again, I tell you. HOWEVER, this emitter isn't quite as awful as the damn spiders everywhere this season. Come ON, people, emit rats or skulls or little orange candy but PULEEEZE take pity on us arachnophobes! ![]() _____________________

I understand your problems with roaches.
I had this bad experience years ago in a diner in a small town in Texas. I was sitting at a table eating one of those ready-made wrapped sandwhiches. At the table next to me were two other ladies eating fried chicken when one of the ladies suddenly put down her fork and stared at her chicken while she continously said : Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God .... And there, in the middle of her chicken, was a big fat cockroach crawling around ![]() At that time I was pretty happy I had chosen the wrapped sandwhich ! |

We lived in a duplex when I was in high school and had this horrible roach problem for a couple of years...nothing we did seemed to get rid of them. Then the neighbors moved out and, guess what? No more roaches. I really wonder what they were doing over there...

Come ON, people, emit rats or skulls or little orange candy but PULEEEZE take pity on us arachnophobes! ![]() Or how about the clowns everywhere...I'm not clown phobic but a lot of people are. I honestly think a warning about spiders or clowns should be in the description of each place...and a warning notecard when people arrive wouldn't go amiss either. I went on a haunted house ride in SL and there were clowns around more than one corner. I've met people in SL who are scared of even a picture of a clown, I hope they dont go on it. Speaking of warnings could this thread contain a warning about the roach stories? *shivers* |

Which salad today, cuddlybum?

A warning sign could be useful, yes.
I do not have any phobias that I know of personally, but a couple of months ago I was unwrapping a new, fresh salad from the grocery shop. My mind was elsewhere, but then I noticed something that should have not been there: A chubby little foreign snail leaving its slime all over the surface of the salad. It must have come with it from Spain, and I was surprised it had survived the transport. None the less, never have I been that close to throwing up over a salad before. I even took pictures of it (which was deleted from my HD later, wonder why). The meal was quite delicious. All I could think of was the snail that had been i the salad. We could not just throw it all away, as it was only the surface, but all I could think of was that slimy thing crawling around on what I was now eating. I must say, though: After that one quite unpleasant meal, it never bothered me again ![]() Now we have mice in the kitchen. At least one, and it left evidence a couple of days ago. I always wanted a house pet, anyway. |
