Anyone have what it takes to resize prims and have them stick to the new size? I'm making jewelry and when i resize it smaller, it returns to the original size as soon as I click off from it.

I've taken it into inventory, worn it and tried, to no avail. The thing keeps to the original measurements.

Anyone else having issues?

Are you trying to size it smaller than .01 in for dimension? If so, that would be your problem. That is the size limit for a prim, anything smaller has to be achieved through cuts or other tricks.

Nimue, thank you for responding, no, just resizing it in general to the lowest possible size. It bounces back every time to the original size. I have a hunch it's part of the asset server issues today but of course no notice of that in the blogs.

Ok. that is odd, I resized it to just one notch above the smallest size possible and it kept it's new shape. For designers out there this could prove to be an interesting and challenging situation.

The smallest size possible is reached when 1 face of the prim has that size, no matter how big the others are. So it will go back to the size before, the moment either x, y, or z value reaches 0.01 and you try to resize more.

By what you say I do think that this is the case.
The solution is to make that face 0.02, then you can resize the whole thing again.

Another thing: if you resize too fast, it will sometimes jump back. In that case, do it slow and in stages (stop editing, then re-edit again).
But I don't think that's the problem here.

Are you resizing a set of linked objects? You may need to recheck all of them - if one prim is at the minimum size, none of the others will resize.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that resizing linked prims depends on the size of the root prim. (May need verification on this)

The root prim is the one you select the last when you are linking up all the prims.

I don't understand this, but... resize to just slightly larger than the minimum size... then let go... then resize to the minimum
