Blue menu in lower right corner? What could this have been?

Last night, I received a pop-up blue box in the lower right hand corner of my screen....in Spanish. It was large...like 1/3rd of the height of the screen. Because I don't read Spanish, I have NO clue what it said...but oddly, less than 5 seconds after the popup disappeared, I lost all mouse control to my computer and had to shut it down.

Theories on what this could have been? How it could have happened? How to prevent it from happening again?

I don't have a clue, but I was not about to let this fall off the first page without a response at all.

Maybe the White Rabbit hacked your computer to wire L$1,000,000 to a Swiss bank and then killed your mouse to cover her tracks. Did you see a notecard on the ground, BTW?

I think a little chat with Live Chat might be in order if no one here knows ... it might be a glitch but that sounds worrying.

On the other hand, my PC reboots quite often if I am running SL. It might be two completely unrelated things - lord knows stuff is screwy at the moment!

YIKES! i have never seen that before. i'd totally go into a live chat (as previously suggested) and see if they can find it in their logs and tell you what it was.

Are you sure it was Spanish and not Portuguese? Isn't there some sort of Brazilian grid? When we go from one region to the next that is using a different server we get blue pop-ups on the lower right side. Maybe it is something similar?

I thought it was funny. Especially in light of how liberally SL stole from Snow Crash and the recent branding moves to protect its IP rights.

HoneyBear - a popup shouldn't be able to do anything to your account or your computer unless you click on something. I don't know, though. Were you wearing something or had you recently clicked on something? Any memory of what it said? I can translate a little Spanish, but I know we have some people here who are much more fluent than I am.

Mind you, if you can't speak Spanish then it's a moot point if it was Spanish or Portuguese as they are relatively similar to the uninitiated.

I just mentioned Portuguese because of the Brazil grid, but I'm not even sure if there is such a thing or if I dreamt reading about it.

Now, maybe that was it...I had been doing the grid wide egg hunt and had just landed back on my own sim, but it seems to me the Spanish notice should have occurred going into the area, not coming out of it...

I'll try Live Help tonight (although they're probably getting sick of me) and see what, if anything, they can come up with. I do happen to know the approximate time, since I was just getting ready to start an event.

Yes there is a Brazilian version as far as I know.

Are you sure it was from 2ndL? My email pops up a blue window on the lower right corner whenever a new email hits my mail box. It pops up for a second then disappears. Also it usually has part of the message displayed. Perhaps you were getting some SPAM.

They expand real high if the local chat has many lines--the text part is always above local chat.

Maybe you have a friend with a spanish name and you just didn't realize that's what it said?

It should show the message in local chat history--if youre still online.

Same here Ricardo...in 9 months, I've *never* seen a blue popup on the LOWER right of the screen, only the yellow ones of "different region".

Do normal popups have the hand on them? I don't think I've ever noticed it before.
