Preference Poll #3 [Crash Reports]

In Preferences/General/Crash Reports are three options. This post asks how your client is configured.

Actually I have done do not send, ask and send.
Even with do not send I kept getting asked so I gave up that preference.

Ask first.. I seem to get crashes in waves - whole bunch in a night then nothing for weeks. I'll say yes to the first couple/few but get bored waiting after that.

I decide based on the issue...I have alot of ISP problems due to a bandwidth sharing policy they have (Just until my contract ends in November...New one then) and I attribute most of my crashes to ISP interference, lag, and the mandatory slowdowns they have in force whenever I get caught up in my In_World activities and exceed that limit (Streaming, mostly)...If it seems to be a legit In-World crash, I will send the report...takes seconds and they have now been made aware of the situation and will quite possibly get it repaired, helping me to enjoy a better In_World experience (The only part that sux is that it's always a hard, non-responsive crash, wherein Ctr+Alt+ Del won't do jack, so, every time it's a full Cold boot situation...That sux!) I'm sure with the nature of the SL environment, the developers are inundated with bug fixes and constant pleas for upgrades/updates...I also will take the time to login to the bug reporting system if I deem the crash critical enough and post the report there...The Linden crew always seem quite responsive to the posts there and I have never failed to see them assign any of my posted bug reports in anything more than 24 hours, with an email confirmation back to me that it is in progress...If it helps my experience In-World, I have no probs taking a few seconds to report it...If i deem it ISP related, I usually choose NOT to send any reports...That's outside the scope of their responsibilities and control...IMHO, of course...Just adding my 2 cents for the record, not meaning to contradict or offend anyone else posting here!

Do they even read crash reports? Maybe one out of 10 they do. After crashing continuesly on voice (client over 100 Crash reports sent in). Reading their notes ( COUGH COUGH ) BS fixes I say they don`t read them. Why? because they are too worried about adding a feature that will help them bring in more money with mic and head phone sets. And companies that requires voice to do their simuations with in the game. LLABS goal is to add features let 3rd party people do the fixes. What does this Equal to? ONE BIG MESS of confusion.

If you spent 1/2 as much time looking around as you did whining, you'd know that they are looked at (at least for signature matching) and that they are being worked on.

Pardon me? did you try to say something? Um i sent in my share of crash reports OVER 100................ little person. So I think your bitching in a useless way here. Did you even read my remarks? I sent in crash reports.............Oh well. there are always some peopel that only reads what they want in writing.

HAH working on it. they did not even post notes about possible crash issues over the past 7 weeks about it.l But instead added pretty looking chat box etc. GESH these RAH RAH Voice people just don`t give up!

As stated above, there are times when I know it's jsut my end. Like power going out.

If in doubt, I send the report. The more information the techs have, the eaiser it is to figure jsut WTF happened.
