Will we be being broadly offensive? *laughs*

Ok so we have a whole line of prim-baby furnishings we would like to set out for sale. Now first keep in mind its prim baby...not child AV things.. (not that I have a problem with the vast majority of them...but in this case its prim babies)

Its out of our regular realm. (I get bored and have made way odder things trust me) we normally do adult furniture. These things are things like bassinets, cribs, chairs.. all include animations made by us.... and are things like "rock the baby" and "check on the baby" So.. all in all very innocent.

We would like to put them on one of our regular sims.. up up up in the sky far away from all things sex. (with a TP to them on the ground) We could potentially even section off a parcel if need be.

The problem is we know people who have children's (child AV) furnishings.. have tried the same thing and were ARd..and had all of their things there returned to them (in an ugly fashion) when they asked about it they were told blah blah blah child things in the same area as sex things... (but remember they were not in the same area... just on the same sim)

The thing is... OUR things dont really allow for "child play" role play in that way...its a PRIM. a block of wood....and we have no "jump on bed" animations or things of that nature..that people could make creepy. And our place is not AS well known for only being about SEX as theirs is. We have prefabs, furniture, food, clothing... stuff.

So..... what do you think?

It's frightening to see what people are considering [sexual] ageplay recently as it is. Things that were perfectly PG as far as we knew have been returned to their owners with apparently the same warnings the little pixel pounders get when they're caught in the act. (=_=)

Though... If someone places this same view on prim babies. I would sooner request a mental evaluation of the offended WAY before I see any fault with the "offender". (=_=)

In my point of view... "Broadly Offensive" is now a convenience term for "I, the authority, don't like it and one other person complained; so I must be right." (>_<;)

Yeh I have heard about the skins issues..on top of the people we know who got in "trouble" with their child AV things.

I know that we cannot really ever guess what LL will do or term broadly offensive. I am just looking for best guesses based on *your gut feelings about how you would feel about it if you landed there..ya know?

We can only get some info on how other people feel about it.. then make the decision. I really dont want to have to go to a mall with it and we have more than enough of our own land. We have some of them on slex *yes I cant stop calling it slex* but we would like to be able to set them out obviously.

I think that if I were visiting a children's furniture store I wouldn't want anything adult in visual range. The parcel name which shows on top of the screen should also not be adult.

Yes, I was thinking it'd be best if we parceled it off. That line has its own name, so we can name the parcel that. Thats not an issue....and as I said it would be in the sky far away from the rest of our things.

Personally I don't get I think you only be prim baby perv if the baby had built pose ball that said "Ride me"
There are places that are suppose to PG rated or Kid safe that got man on top, oral pose balls all over the place and heard of even worse, personally I haven't seen them myself.

My (worthless) guess would be that if it has anything at all to do with baby/child stuff, it had better be in a PG sim. If not, I think you can reasonably expect someone to get all freaky and start screaming for you to be punished.

I agree that it should not be a problem for prim baby supplies and adult furniture to be sold in the same sim in different areas. What would happen if a mall rented one space to a child avi clothing store and one space to a store that sold sex animations? Would everyone in the mall have their items returned to inventory? Does anyone know?

Yeh that one is not possible.
Our sims *are* mature.. but we will parcel off the baby store.
I dunno. My business partner is going to Live Chat..but I am pretty sure they will say its fine..and still can potentially bite us in the non-prim-baby perverted butts.

I really dont see (except in the case that FD mentioned or if we had it next to a bondage cross or something) how people can make (in their heads) a crib with no - even close to resembling "adult" animations demented like that. Seriously..what is on these people's minds?? And what has happened to the world that we have to freaking wonder about ridiculous things like..is my crib going to be seen sexual?

Might also be good to have a wall between the shop with your baby and child-related products, and anything sexual in nature. With no windows or doors. No easy way to move between them. That should help keep anybody from complaining about you making it too simple to move between the two realms.

Some people just don't even have RL's and then they bring their hang ups into SL, personally i wish they would go see Dr Phil and get their issues dealt with before coming into SL ;)

Good Luck with the venture :)

I find prim babies broadly offensive when they chatter incessantly from within the womb about how they're kicking mommy in the stomach or how hungry they are.

Yeh.. actually after I made the prim baby stuff, my partners laughed at me. None of us are into them, and we (lightheartedly) make fun of all of our friends who happen to like them or have one...so it was kinda odd that I made furniture for the SL creepy wooden dolls. (late night boredom on my build floor) but I do GET why some people like them. well not thats a huge lie. I dont get it. But I get that I will never get it.
