sorry i dont'speak english very well. this is my problem: my avatar always run and i don't stop. I clear the cache and change s.o.( after windows vista now windows xp); upgrade drivers video. thanks
scusate ho un problema strano: dopo 4 mesi di normali connessioni ad un tratto il mio avatar incomincia a muoversi senza poterlo fermare. Credo di aver fatto tutto: stop all animation tantissime volte, pulizia della cache,disistallare e reistallare,cambiare sistema operativo. Se qualcuno conosce una riasposta ne sarei felici. Grazie cmq.

Partial Disconnect?

If your avie is constantly running in circles over water, and won't STOP, that is a partial disconnect. Log out and log in again. That usually fixed the problem. It is a very scarey problem the first time you encounter it.

the thing with Ctrl-R is that you have to make your avatar run on purpose for that to be the issue.
OP cleared cache, which means a relog. at that point, should have been back to walking unless he purposefully made the avatar run.
is there a "always run" setting in preferences?

Make sure menu option "World" "Always Run" is not on.
