Estate land purchase--Great estate owner!

I recently purchased estate land--I know, I know, really renting. But I paid a purchase price and tier, and have the right to resell. I looked long and hard for the right land, and when the price decrease was announced, just thought, meh, so I overpaid. I got a wonderful parcel I just love...

Today, I logged in and found myself over $15,000L richer and this note from the estate owner:

"Hello! I wanted to let you both know that SL recently dropped land prices (well, soon) and as a result of the refund I am getting, I am passing the savings on to people who already bought as a rebate. I am also lowering the land cost for new buyers to my cost from LL- L$4.20 a meter. If you know of anyone looking, would sure appreciate it if you refer them here. I will pay you the rebate right now, enjoy! :)"

With all the bitching we hear about estate owners ripping people off, I just wanted to let you all hear some good news...

BTW, I live on an Island called Verdant Shores....my parcel is called Refugio if you want to fly by for a look.

So, my question is, would you have expected this? :)

Those are our intentions here at beach front Realty,

We have 12 open sims that we have to apply refund, But yes not many estate owners will do this.

Breeze Herrey and Kandee Herrey from beach front realty would do the right things, cause at the long run it will pay off.

Very unusual. Nice way to pre-empt the coming competition. Kudos to the sim owner for doing something that's already paying of for their business with this thread.

I heard on a group today someone moving because their landlord was raising rent to cover his island land value loss.
Crazy, what goes through the mind of some of these people?

Am I missing something?

why are the Estate Owners getting refunds with this new price change?

I have read the blog and my understanding is this only applies to certain purchases from 11 March upto the announcement of the changes.
