Problem with clicking on poseballs and using camera

hello everyone,

For quite sometime I've had this issue that I can't seem to resolve. I have the latest SL version. Here's what happens and maybe it's a setting or two that may alleviate this problem. Any help will be surely appreciated.

I normally go to these Jazz Places to dance but I've noticed that when I now try to click on a poseball, I am either told that this is not a suitable place to sit...or something stupid like that. I know very well that I'm clicking right on the poseball itself. So, could it be that I might have messed around with a setting in order for it to do something like this?

The same thing applies to when I move my camera around by using my mouse and the Alt key...most of the time I have no problem but all of a sudden I completely lose control of the camera and have to use the Esc key to reset it back to me.

Here's the kicker...when I log in using my laptop, same version and everything, I have no problem. It is only when I log into it from my desktop. And as far as RAM and any other hardware, my desktop is much more powerful.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help me on this issue.

Since the problem seems to be limited to a single client only (which means it's not you who is borked:) ) ... the obvious question #1 and #2:

Did you try clearing the cache? If this doesn't help, what about reinstalling?

I seem to be dealing with this one a lot these days. It started for me somewhere around the 1.18.5 release, but I have 4 or 5 releases installed (all >= 1.18.5) and I experience the problem in all of them. I have just decided it is another 'feature' of SL and learned to deal with it.

Optical mouse + pet hair = confused laser, maybe?

(The sitting on a poseball thing is very weird--so weird I suspect the mouseclick is missing the poseball altogether. Any normal poseball has llSitTarget() set in the prim, which makes it "sittable" however unsuitable its surface may be--unless somebody else is already seated there.)
