Land titles on the Fritz?

After logging in I generally do a clean up of littered prims, we have several parcels that make up the Fhelzgud yard sale and flying above the properties I watch for the name of th parcel at the top of the screen to navigate, stopping in as the name changes to check the objects. Now the land title all reading the sim name and not the titled name we have had sor some two years, am I missing something?

What about when you right-click the land area of the parcel? If you choose About Land, does the correct information appear in the box?

If you walk away from the parcel and walk back onto the parcel, is there any change?

I have noticed that on the class 5 sim I use - not my class4. I am getting s big spzace after the Sim name and then the wrong title on the land - but the ABOUT LAND box has the coreect information.

A few weeks ago, another parcel owner (who also happens to own the island) had all my parcel's info (title, picture, music stream, etc.) in the land info for her parcel.

If anyone is seeing such weirdness happening consistently, I'd love to go see it

on a side note i also have a way i use to navigate but i use the parcel music feature, when the music stops or changes i know i'v gone over the boarder. your way is alot better and i'm going to start using it from now on. but this is a way of doing it when yours is playing up like today

sorry for this bit of weirdness but turns only to be operator headspace..change in UI size in my preferences fixed all...Thank you Day Oh for your help

rudy2zday, I'm glad you were able to fix your problem. However, the bug where a parcel displays the wrong name remains. And I personally don't appreciate being randomly blasted with hip-hop or whatever music happens to be playing in the parcel when my parcel suddenly starts displaying the wrong name in the menu bar. It's a server-end problem -- everyone in the parcel gets the switch in stream and parcel name.

I'm concerned that other parcel attributes could be impacted, like access lists or ban lists, but so far that hasn't shown. If it did, I think the lindens would be more interested in fixing the defect.

I don't know whether this bug changes FOR SALE properties. If so, it's obviously quite serious. But even if it doesn't, the fact that it changes the parcel's title could affect land sales and rentals. Imagine trying to sell a parcel and putting "Waterfront Parcel with House For Sale" in the title; once this bug attacks, your title will no longer serve as an advert.

The really difficult thing about this is that it's intermittent. Please, if someone thinks of a way to reproduce it reliably, either post it to the jira or if you don't feel like bothering, tell me. I'll do it.

If I could reproduce it, I might be able to work with the landowner of the other parcel that keeps showing up in my title bar to determine some of the other stuff that worries me about it, like potential banlist bleedover, etc. (Yes, really, it bothers me that much. )

I've noticed this on my land a couple of times where the info in the title bar is for someone else's parcel that's not even in the same sim. The info in the about land box is still correct so it's just an annoyance, though I have no idea if it messes up search results or teleports.

if land settings would have changed (specially auto return), the lindens wouldn`t be safe from a friend as he has alot done with a different group tag on the land (don`t ask why, i`m still annoyed by it daily(prolly the reason..))

I have seen this behavior as well as a friend in a different sim. The land name just suddenly changes as well as the media settings but all other settings remain unchanged. It happens so infrequently, it is nearly impossible to track any kind of pattern.

It was rather upsetting to be working a build on her parcel with quiet music playing only to suddenly be blasted with some hip hop trash and we both immediately noticed her parcel was named for some sex club.

Having same problem..Parcel will switch to wrong name ,and music stream also changes..
Everyone on the parcel sees the switch and only way we have found to fix it is to fly off parcel and back..Don't think it's a viewer issues because we're all using a different viewer usually when it happens..I'm also noticing alot of visiters stoping in thinking there coming to the club (land changes to a club name thats on a sim over from mine) so not sure if it's showing up maybe even in search wrong also..

Embrace, the next time it happens, can you check search and see if it misdirects you to your parcel? My parcel name changes to a commercial venue (a mall), so I'll check it, too, the next time I see it. I haven't seen it happen in a few days on my parcel, but I haven't been home much, either.

I'm surprised how widespread this is and I had not previously run into anyone else who had seen it occur.

Hi Feline, Yes I will try to check that the next time, it happened yesterday, but I was not on at the time. Have a couple friends that are usually at my place and gonna ask them to try to catch it next time if I'm not on..It seems to be happening about every other day on my land. I reported it a couple weeks ago , they did a restart of the sim, which helped for the moment, but that isn't fixing the problem..
