I have a dell netbook, and it seems that I can never get on SL.

It says that SL is unable to run bec. my video card drivers did not install properly, are out of date, or are unsupported hardware. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers and even if you do have the latest, try reinstalling them.

What does this mean lol. Has anyone else have this problem, and found a way to fix it??

If so, please help me :)

Either your vid card doesn't work with SL's 3D OpenGL engine or your vid card drivers need updating.. Netbooks are not really designed for 3D games although some slightly work in SL.

Its Dell so you have a problem.
My computer fried last week so you can follow my thread.
I asked teh experts here and they came up with a few solutions and confirmed I would do well with an ASUS and a NVIDIA 2600 GeForce driver.
Your looking at $1500 which isnt bad at all.

You sound very very sad and I am in a giving vein tonight. When you come back on and I'm back on I'll cheer you up with a few more pointers from sl itself.

What modell?

What kind of video?

It's likely to be an onboard Intel processor that would either not work or just barely work.

You could see if there's a driver update at the Dell site, or you could try at the video processor's website.

There are viewers from non-Linden Lab sources that might work better than the regular Linden Lab supplied viewer.

You have a netbook which is a fine machine for what it is designed for. It's a great little computer for light weight stuff like word processing, web surfing, email and document reading, editing, and saving. It's not a great machine for anything involving heavy computational processing, video processing or editing.........it can view most streamed video without too much trouble. SL is both heavy in the the computation and video areas..........the two weakness areas for a netbook computer. It's the wrong machine for what you are asking it to do.

Some have had "success" with getting their netbooks to run SL. But that is a very loose definition of the word success. The computer's ability to perform the required rendering and computing to deliver the 3d graphics of SL is well exceeded so being able to log in could be considered success. If that is all you want then maybe you can get it to "work". It will require a bit of tweaking on your part.

First you will need a driver that will work for your particular machine and it's specific setup. The latest driver is usual the one that will work (though that is not always the case). You need to know what graphics chipset you have in your computer. You need to go to either your computer manufacturers website (in your case Dell) and find the lastest driver, download it and install it. The preferred place to get the latest driver is the graphics chipset manufacturers website (which will not be Dell). But, it's often not easy to know exactly which driver to download due to the OEM setup for your computer (the setup specific to the computer put together by Dell............so much of that required information is hidden within the setup configuration files). If you can get the latest driver installed then you will need to go to your preferrences before you log in and lower all your graphics settings to the very minimum...........then hold your breath to see if you can log in without crashing. If you get lucky then go back to your preferrences again and one setting at a time slowly raise them until you get the best quality (which isn't going to be very good) and don't crash.

Sorry, that's about all the hope I can give you. You're taking a switch to a sword fight.......it's not going to be pretty.

One more very important point. Laptop, notebooks, netbooks all have a heat problem under the best of circumstances with programs as graphically intensive as SL. The lower powered laptop type computers have the biggest problem........your's is at the lowest of low end. Get a cool pad.....you'll cook the insides of that computer in a heartbeat if you are not careful.
