How do you hide the cone of context?

That's the gray cone that appears at times while you are editing textures.

It's one of the reasons I stopped building anything, and I'm hoping there's a way to make it go away easier than having to learn to compile a custom viewer.

Debug menu, has a setting for the opacity of the cone of context. PickerContextOpacity can be set so you hardly see it. In fact if you set it to a negative value it is effectively invisible.

I've found that as soon as you let go of the floater, it goes away.

This argument has kind of been over for months now. Original implementation was "always on".. LL responded to complaints by having it only visible while moving the floater.

Thanks. That works.

I am making a notecard called My Debug Settings to store this stuff in.

If I set the PickerContactOpacity to a large negative number will that make me forget that I ever saw the miserable thing in the first place?
