so we backwards aussies finally got the csi NY "down the rabbit hole" episode aired last night on tellie.

i liked it, obviously alot of it was crap, there must of been over 200 avatars in that fight arena scene, never happen. was still cool tho, especially to see all the freebies from NCI walking around. oh and i want one of those giant screens

thank god not everyone uses a mic inworld *shudders*

They finally ran the followup episode a week or two ago, and SL was pretty much never shown or mentioned in it. The climax of the episode was a real 'dead end' and I was a bit disappointed they seemed to drop the whole virtual slant after all the hype they started with.

I wonder if that was because of the huge flop it turned out to be.

The show was pretty goofy. I saw it when it aired and I wasn't all that impressed with the way they portrayed SL. I know they took some liberties for the show....but that was also very misleading for anyone who may have joined SL as a result and thought they could do all the things they saw on the show.

The concept was cool.....the way it was done was a flop...well....IMO anyway. I lot of folks liked it but I was ready to send Gary Sinise a sympathy card. LOL

Yay for more Aussies!

I like all the CSI shows, but the rabbit hole one was lame at best. Whoever helped portray Second Life (TM) in such a deceitful way should have their avatars stuffed and mounted. We get enough wide eyed newbies looking to make a million dollars, but with that show we got people actually thinking the platform works. :(

Freebies from NCI? In the episode?

yep the "hottie prince avatar" was most noticable as my "brother" used to wear it when he started in second life along with quite a few other freebie accessories like wings ect. not to mention alot of bought items like the the most common orc avatar i'v seen in SL and a few other monster and furry avatars

It could be that they rushed to finish the episode soon after the strike and found that they didn't have enough SL footage to include in the second part.

Yeah it wasn't the best episode, also the bit about catching a virus into your system through SL by picking up a prim isn't exactly good publicity.

I watched about half of the episode and was just sitting there saying" oh please" and driving people mad, lol.

But yay for more aussies we are growing in here. Maybe we should have a aussie get together and throw a barbie!!

I overheard a conversation the other day:
Him: "Oh gawd, yer another aussie"
Her: "Yep, sure am. We're takin' over. Today SL, tomorrow RL. And we might even let the rest of you stay in both!"

It gave me a giggle.

-waves to the other Aussies and the rest of you too- ;)
