Okay, so this is prolly going to be one of those threads that gets answered in, like, one reply lol.
Anyway, I am on a premium account. I need to downgrade to basic.
When I do this, how much notice do i need to leave? I mean, If get billed on the 30th of the month, is it billed in advance? If I downgrade this week will i still be billed on the 30th or will it just downgrade without any other charges?

Thankyou all in advance :D

Mainland is paid behind. So you'll be billed for this month's usage at the end of the month. Well at the end of the billing cycle. So if say you're bill is due the 30th, you'd have to downgrade before the 30th. You'll still get billed on the 30th.

If you did not own any land or have any land tier donated to a group during this billing cycle then it will downgrade with no further charges. Otherwise, what Ciaran said is true.

i don't have any land, just my premium account charge of $9.99 or whatever it is.
I thought these may have been billed in advance...

oh well :)

EDIT: ahh, thankyou :)

Still Waiting
03-09-2008 08:02
In January Linden Labs billed my PayPal $5.00 US by mistake for land fees. They admitted this was a mistake after I filed a PayPal complaint. They never answered my question why I was billed this until I filed a complaint. They said they would refund the $5.00 if I dropped the complaint, so like an idiot I did. Now 3 weeks later !!!! No refund - No Answer to further Support Tickets.

So I still waiting for my refund Linden Labs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, you already told us this, Renee, in another thread. this is a thread about downgrading. call Linden Labs for your money. we aren't going to refund you.

Claire, once you begin the downgrade process, you cannot change your mind. you are locked in until your bill date passes. just thought i'd let you know that part.

While it is true that there is no way to stop the process via the account page, you can open a support ticket if you change your mind before the billing date. LL may still ding your account for the reinstatement fee though.

No land owned or tier donated so on the 30th, no charges. Welcome to the ranks of the freeloaders :) You will get a lot more L$ for your 5£ than the premium membership gives you.

lol Joseph....careful you don't shred it before you manage to get it...:D

I may change my mind next month and upgrade again - thats ok though isn't it?
I just don't wanna be billed this month and end up with my account cancelled...problems have meant that there is no way I can't have anything going out of my bank atm :o
Means no more shopping too :( lol.

From the info given, you should be fine Claire. And you can bump back up to premium at any time later if you choose to do so.
