I created an alt, a lovely female artic fox. But alas, I can't find any clothing which fits her due to the tail.
Now, I don't mind going au natural with her most of the time, but there are some places where I think it's better she have some clothing on, such as when associating with the humans, especially those who automatically assume a naked fox means one ready for breeding LOL. Humans (newbie mostly), what can you do?
Can anyone direct me to some places I can properly outfit myself?
Thanks!

It depends on where the attachments are. I've got one furry form and I reattach my skirt to work around the tail, since most of what I make and buy tends to be mod/copy. Sleeves and chest pieces are a whole other problem, though.

Oh, so you can just change it if it's able to be modified then? I guess I'm going to have to learn how to do that now...

This wiki, in the middle of the page, lists most of the furry sims, and some have malls or other commercial areas: http://furry.wikia.com/wiki/Second_LifeFurNation Worlds Mall sim comes to mind, as does Rainbow Tiger sim, which has a big mall. Or you could just go to Luskwood and ask some folks where they got their outfits!

Thanks! No worries. Foxes aren't naked. They're covered with fur!

I have a huge selection of clothes. What I do for prim skirts is I copy my tail and re-attach it somewhere else. Most tails attach to Pelvis, and so do most prim skirts. Most tails can just as easily attach to Stomach or to spine. So for my most commonly used avatars, I may have as many as three tails, each prepared for a different attachment point.

From: Har Fairweather No worries. Foxes aren't naked. They're covered with fur! Point well taken, but many male humans seem to think otherwise

BTW I did go to Luskwood on my own earlier in the day before I wrote this. It seemed the most logical thing to do. Spoke with a couple of nice furs, but neither of them were particularly helpful as far as clothing; which is why I love this forum so much One can always get the answer you need - even if it winds up on a tangent at times...

I would wager your choice of outfit includes a prim skirt....
If this is the case, I would recommend you change your tail to attach to your Stomach, as 99.5% of the prim skits out there attach to the pelvis. And, for whatever reason, most furry av tails attach to the same point. So instead of having to change each and every prim skirt you try to wear to the stomach (even no-mod skirts can be attached to a new point and repositioned), moving the tail there will be one change to save hundreds more.
Hope this helps some.

The advantage of mod/copy over mod/transfer stands out a mile in this case. Never modify the original if you can help it. Always create a copy and modify/wear that. Then if you mess up the tail or other attachments, you can always revert to another copy of the original.

please note, wings, jetpacks, necklaces, or things like that all attach to spine usually.... chest/stomach is you best bet for alternates on skirts/tails.... but then you don't get that bit of swish to your tail/skirt for walks..... hip is an another option.

well okay if i were an animal I would not be wearing clothes but this is SL. Furries are made of prims with attachement points and clothing which would have to mostly be prim clothing for a furry also has attachement points. Its possible that furry avatars use most of the attachment points.
By the way my dragon he walks around in the buff and hates clothes which is a good thing cause he's probably got no attachement points left anyhow..

Correct. These are the most common attachment points for furry avs:
Nose (the head; leaves Skull free) Lower Legs (shin pieces; optional. also for digitigrade legs) Feet (paw-feet; technically optional, but almost always used) Ears (only for avs that have separated ears, obviously) Pelvis (tail) Lower Arms (for paw-hands) Hands (again, paw hands; both are optional)
Some, like the WereHouse avs, use LOTS more prims, and LOTS more points, but aside from those and the ferals, the above's what you're looking at for the most part.

BareRose has TONS of outfits that work with furries. At reasonable prices. Many of the display pics have furry models posing the outfits as well. There is usually LIVE Customer Service in the store to assist too. They will put on outfits to show them if you need.
LL should hire June as CS Manager LMAO.

~Jessy Actually, Bare Rose was the suggestion I got when I was asking around in world. So this just confirms it. I had found that store a while ago and loved their clothing so I guess it will be a good choice for the furry and my regular av. Thanks!

"Why is it so hard to find clothing for Furrys?" >> Because despite a large population of Furs, there are still far more humans >> Because Furs often have attachment points used for bits of their furry anatomy >> Because tails, digitigrade legs and other attachments stick out through the clothes >> Because some people view Furs as not needing clothes >> Because there is an even larger variation in body sizes among Furs than humans I'm aware of this because I've donned various fursonas during my SL. Also, fab as Bare Rose are (some of my favorite outfits are from there) you have to be careful of their attachment heavy outfits because of my 2nd point. I was also once asked by an assistant there to leave or put some clothes on while shopping in a naked-but-furry form
