So I have a skybox and I put myself the ejector, which I have had foreever! love it very simple to use.. but.. it seems when I am not in the skybox or online it won't eject people..
I tried contacting the maker no reaponse.. can I assume such a high altitude can render it useless, unless I am online? Which is kinda weird anyway......
thanks

thanks I use a security orb made by conover and it has never let me down, minus the time sl was messed up and couldnt use the menu, but the notecard tells you how to do it through chat command and its cheap litle investment. but mine works at 3549m and covers 96m in any direction

Can be something with the group settings. Are your land and the device set to the same groups? It just reminds me too much of an occasion where I couldn't use certain doors on my girlfriends' land while she was offline. In the end, it turned out to be because her land was set (not deeded) to group A, while some of the doors were set to group B. As soon as she went offline, the scripts stopped working. (Her land was set to no-scripting, by the way)

Hmmm. If the script has Mod permission, I could look at it and see if it checks for the owner to be online (which would actually be a nice feature, IMHO). Or it could conceivably be group-related, if the land is group owned. There are some few LSL functions that behave differently if a group owner (or someone with the appropriate group role) is online... but AFAIK, llEjectFromLand() and llTeleportAgentHome() both need to be owned by the landowner (group-deeded if on group-owned land) in order to work at all.

it could be a bug in the reporting function. I remeber something about llDialog only working when the avatar you send it to has been in the sim and not gone offline after that, I forgot if it silently fails or could be a scriipt stopper if not coded right.
offcourse it could actualy be a setting somewhere that stops the securety system from ejecting people when you are not around. The hight should not effect it unless it tries to orbit people rather then ejecting, in that case a poor coding could still asume a max hight of 780 meter

Please tell me it is a zoned detector(meaning you have to set up the area of detection to whatever dimensions your skybox is), and not just a simple sensor that boots people flying by? because if not, I have no sympathy for your "problem".

So what happens with these security orbs that are group-owned, and the parcel is also group-owned, but the detection range is set to outside the parcel? Eg, a parcel of 30m x 30m = 900sqm, but the security orb is set to 96m range. Is the area outside of the parcel ignored? Or would people in the next parcel, flying by, also get booted? Rock

Rock The Psyche orb will protect in all directions to 96m and will network with other orbs. It has a setting to only protect within property boundaries. Nobody outside my land is affected in any way. I think this is standard for the good security devices now. Also, it has a setting to continue protecting or to shut off when the owner is not present...this may be what's happening to the OP.

Rock Most modern securety orbs do a check for parcel so unless you actualy fly into a parcel it will ignore you, some older orbs might be missing that feature (or self scripted orbs) Also an orb can not boot someone from another parcel unless that parcel is owned by the same group but I admit that the warning popups can be anoying non the less but someone flying by should not be that much effected by it.
