Hey everyone, we (a research team composed of Amsterdam University and Stanford University students) are conducting an analysis of Second Life. Our research is about how Second Life can be used as a tool in global work and communication. We're currently looking for people to participate in our anonymous online survey. It should take no longer then 5-10 minutes to complete and you'd provide us with valuable insights regarding Second Life. The link to the survey is: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/127075/second-life-participant-surveyFeel free to spread the word since we're always looking for more participants. Thank you for your time and enjoy your further Second Life - Diederik Bakker, Amsterdam University

It *is* Friday today, isn't it? Pep (Go for it!)
PS It's a waste of time doing it unless you have used SL for international collaborative project management. I guess that's a "no" then?

We consider your answers valuable regardless of whether or not you have used SL for international collaborative project management. I hope that clears things up Thanks again for participating.

Thank you for your time and enjoy your further Second Life - Diederik Bakker, Amsterdam University Kintaro, if you do a quick search on "survey", you'll see that 1) we get this a lot here, 2) we're pretty cynical about it by now, 3) usually survey operators offer some sort of remuneration for the time of the residents who, out of the goodness of their hearts, take the surveys, and 4) part of the reason we're pretty cynical is that people who run these surveys almost always have rez dates within 2 or 3 (or 10) days before the forum post announcing the survey. While it's true that it's possible you are a long-time SL resident and only created this alt on 4/14 for the express purpose of this survey, I think you'll find that most folks here are probably of the opinion that the only way to really understand "how Second Life can be used as a tool in global work and communication" is to walk among us as a resident for more than 10 days.

The survey is pretty harmless and VERY quick. It's a lot more intelligent than most of the surveys we've seen.
My only observation is that the word "work" is undefined. "Global work" - is that real-life profit-making activity? Is building and scripting in SL work?

Thanks for everyone that's done the survey so far. As Key MacMoragh said, it's quick and harmless. As for rewarding participants with Linden dollars; providing rewards may have a negative impact on the quality of answers provided, my apologies but it's not going to happen.
Thanks for participating.

This is a great survey! Actually, I was hoping for a reward but it only takes about five minutes to complete and the results seem useful.

Well, the OP seems to have learned enough about SL to be able to create an alt, anyway! Pep (Obviously he has a pretty low opinion of the perspicacity of forum participants as well)
