It's an interesting contrast be RL and SL. Unlike yesterday's historic US election where the people cast the votes for those who will lead as well as deciding on a host of propositions, we in SL simply wait today for another another edict from the corporate junta. Isn't it time for a progressive thinking company based in San Francisco to actually start involving it's virtual citizens in the decision making process and governing by consent vice decree? Fat chance of that happening, but we can always dream.

And people point to the U.S. Congress as an example of gridlock interfering with getting anything at all done. Seeing it with 60,000+ voices trying to make decisions will be lots of fun to watch.

Just go read the Ad Farm threads for a great example of how that would work. Take along a big bowl of popcorn and something to drink before starting to read though.

It really is more entertaining than anything on television lately.

When Linden Lab goes public and we can buy stock, then and only then will we have a choice. Until then, all we can do is suggest, accept, or get out.

Just like customers of any other company. Get that "We are citizen's of a world idea" out of your heads. It isn't so.
