I understand that reverting non-estate mainland parcels restores the original terraforming put there by LL. My question is this: if one reverts a parcel of land, will land adjacent to that parcel, but not joined to it, belonging to the same owner, also revert?
It seems obvious that it shouldn't, but on the other hand, terraforming using the other tools--"raise land," etc., *does* affect adjacent land with the same owner, even if the parcels aren't joined. In other words, land pushed down at the edge of one parcel may pop up in an adjacent parcel with the same owner, even though the parcels aren't joined.
I recently bought a plot next to one I've owned for months. The new plot was terraformed by its previous owner to look like a mini-mountain range. I'd like to revert it, but not if doing so undoes all the terraforming on my old parcel.

I don't have any answers for you, but I know there is a lot of knowledgeable people in here. This is my way of bumping your question up to the front of the line before it goes un-noticed!

The part that will be reverted will be the part you select. If you don't specifically select an area using the select tool (selected area indicated by highlighted yellow lines) - the affected area will be your entire parcel out to the limit of the property line. It sounds like you have two parcels (as defined by property lines) so it will probably just revert the one you are working on. Also note that it does 'kinda' affect land that is nearby on adjacent plots - the terrain is a bit funny that way, so go easy

It will have some effect, for a meter or two past the edge of your parcel. A Revert is still terraforming, and follows the same rules regarding the behavior of land outside the selected edges.
For example, if you select a 4M x 4M square area in your own parcel, and lower it as far as it will go, that area becomes the bottom of the hole, and the sides slope outwards from there. Same thing if you raise the land. The selected area becomes the top, and it slopes outward.
If you do this next to land that you do not own, right on the border, then yes, their land will also get that same slope past your selected edge. if the change is extreme, they can get spily areas, too.
I once dug a swimming pool hole right at the edge of a parcel that I owned, and it screwed up the neighboring parcel for about a meter past the edge. I had to get special rights from the sim owner to repair it.

Thanks for the answers. I did try revert in a spot and didn't like the original shape either. So I terraformed using the raise, lower, smooth, etc. tools. It took a long time, but it worked out just the way I wanted it.
Of course, now I can't get back in to work on the build I planned...but surely SL will be open soon!
