Lately, the SL Website is very very slow and sometimes unavailable at all. I have to load pages 3, 4 or more times to get them to load completely. Sometimes it says service unavailable. Seems like a database issue. I know it's not my connection because this is the only site that has been doing this.
Anyone else noticing this trend?

Hmmm ok. Glad it's not just me, but I sure hope the sort this problem out soon. It's getting frustrating to say the least. Thanks for the reply and links.

I don't know why this is happening or what causes it but the main question is why doesn't Linden fix this already? Unless they're treating this as they do sl. Then I can understand why it's still broken.
We're used to this, right?

There's a thread on sluniverse about the mandatory 1.19 viewer coming out. It uses web-based authentication...whatever that means. Anyways I think you have to login to the website in order to login here or is that the other way around? Maybe the fact that they're working on it is causing these problems. Someone who knows more about this please speak up.

Well the viewer itself logs into a webserver so you don;t need to do it selerately from the viewer. You know how in the main viewer the loging comes up at the bottom but the stats and background image take a while to load? thats' coming from a web server. The "Web login" is now on that page and you have to wait for it to come up.
The Windlight viewer has been doing this for a while now. It does seems slower and they have had problems with it being slow and giving "no connection" errors. The WL client has been doing it a lot lately. Seems unlikely that it'll magicly be fixed when the manditory viewer hits.
We'll see.

From: Tegg Bode People are only just noticing this? Next maybe they'll notice the phone system is perpetually broken, too.

How I hate the number '503'.... So much so that I actually looked it up in 'numerology' terms. It adds up to 8, which means 'power/sacrifice'. Which kind of makes complete sense... LL have the power while we, the residents, have to sacrifice..

From: Bree Giffen There's a thread on sluniverse about the mandatory 1.19 viewer coming out. It uses web-based authentication... That was dropped from 1.19 (it may return) partly due to problems with the in built web browser and partly due to the website problems. And yes, it does worry me sometimes that LL seem to have so many problems just keeping the website and phones working. Matthew

From the "If you can't fix it, feature it" (tongue in cheek) perspective:
How long until some enterprising designer starts making "503 Jeans"? They would be white with a big black 5 on one back pocket and a 3 on the other.
