So, the latest mainstream client adds this feature; for some reason it's driving me nuts. Nicholaz has had it for some time, but he wisely added a clearly visible (and WELL DOCUMENTED) debug entry to disable it. Is there some way to disable it in the new LL viewer? Sadly it even overrides the chosen Nicholaz setting if I apply his patch. There's a decent chance I'm just dumb/blind/lazy (there's no friggin way I'm hunting through the entire debug menu from top to bottom, and I've looked in all the obvious places I could think of). Any help? And yes, I know there are shiny new right-click options. I just don't like them either. Feel free to add "stubborn" to the dumb/blind/lazy list above Thanks

Yeah: the old "Open" was handy for having the destination cued-up on the screen, ready to be clicked. So if there's an option for reverting to the old behavior, I'd be very interested, too. (I didn't find it either, on a cursory scan of debug options.)

(Never mind, hated it 5 months ago when the push was made to make it the default, still hate it now)

basically there are 3 options for landmark use
1 double click and teleport directly 2 double click and get asked if you want to teleport 3 right click and choose about landmark (which opens the landmark window) it is no longer the little landmark window, but the much bigger one with the big pic and such in it
to get the prompt on the double click, you would have to turn on the popup thing in the preferences (pop ups, when teleporting from a landmark in your inventory) and all it will do is ask if you are sure you want to teleport)
a way to manage your landmarks for when you wish to teleport to a few places is make a folder specific for those and put them in there
if it is a landmark you have already used it will be a bright red pushpen icon if it is a landmark you have not already use it will be the dim mauve colored pushpen icon

Argh. I'd go back to the previous Nicholaz just to get the old behavior, but I have a business to run and not being able to use the new search and see for myself how well (or badly) it works is a dealbreaker.
Thanks to all who responded. Rhaorth, thanks for explaining those darn landmark colors, I always did wonder what the heck they meant.

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't it function this way ages ago (back when telehubs had just become obsolete), personally loved seeing it in the Nicholaz viewer when I switched over

Sadly it even overrides the chosen Nicholaz setting if I apply his patch. Teleport on double-click without asking isn't the default; you first have to answer the dialog box (once) saying that you don't want to be asked again. One way to get back to the original behavior (being asked) would be to delete all your user preferences. (On Windows, delete the directory C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\Application Data\Second Life; on other platforms, you'll have to find the corresponding place.) That will, however, also nuke other things like your graphics settings. I don't think there is any way to get back to the behavior before 1.18.5; that is, to pop up the landmark window. But I could be wrong.
